Thanks for all the ideas everyone!  We are compiling them all now into a list.  Dave and Douglas and I will now fight about it for a few days, and then we will post the rough list for your feedback.<br /><br />Then you all can tweak it some more, and we can have a preliminary list.  We then have to find good images -- and if that can't be done on some items we will need to change the list again.<br /><br />Big thanks to Dave and Douglas for their help with the squish down.<br /><br />

<br /><br />If there are items you can't find good images for, I'll bet if you put a shout-out to the forum members on which items you're looking for images of, you'll get a lot of great photos submitted which might solve the problem.  You might as well utilize the resources of Team True Dungeon  =D

I'd really like to be able to contribute a picture this time around.<br /><br />I like apteryx's ideas of the ghost shroud and the barkskin and the arcanist's gloves and the wand of eternal magic missiles (hmm - all stuff that would help the wizard!).<br /><br />The lesser belt of battle is kewl - I don't think there is anything out there that affects initiative.<br />

Maybe because initiative is next to moot in TD terms...<br /><br />With party initiative being rolled by one person for the entire party - it seems that an item that boosts individual initiative is pretty much a waste.  <br /><br />IF the rules are changed and initiative becomes part of the game - I can see things like that belt coming into play...but personally I like KIS rules for initiative - it saves time in combat and that is what we worked so hard for in using the party card etc.

I would imagine that the belt (or any such item) would affect the party's roll for init.<br />

and if each player has one...?<br /><br />Initiative is the pink elephant in the room - everyone sees it - but so far it is best left avoided.<br /><br />Personally, I like the creative stuff - like breaking the sewer gate creates a scenario where the party does not get initiative.<br /><br />For things like that to continue - I think we need to avoid initiative bonus items.

Amulet of Magic Resistance: Can be set to whatever % seems fair. 25% would probably be a good one. Basically it allows for a roll right off the bat to see if a spell is resisted before saving throws and whatnot. If the roll is a success, no saving throw necessary. Could add an interesting quirk in that it would need to be taken off before being healed or it has a chance of disrupting that too.<br /><br />Ring of Spell Turning: As above, but will either need to be a UR or have the % dropped. If successful, spell effect rebounds. Only works on targeted spell.<br /><br />Rod of Spell Splitting (wizard only): Allows any wizard spell cast to hit two targets instead of one. It probably would not be a good idea to allow clerics or druids to get a hold of this. Unless of course you have the rod be charged based. It's far better balanced for the wizard though since it would only be useful in those rooms with multiple monsters. Other balancing factors could be only alllowing it to be used once per room or whatever.<br /><br />Spectacles of Speed Reading (helm slot): On par with that quick-quaff idea for potions. Allows a spellcaster to get a quick action that can be used to cast a spell from a scroll before combat without costing an action.<br /><br />Horn of Valor (charged item): Takes an action by the bard to use. Expend a charge to grant a +3/+3 bonus for duration of combat. Does not stack with bardsong.<br /><br />Medallion of spell exchange: Swap one higher level spell to immediately cast any lower level spell on character sheet.<br /><br />Philosopher's stone (expendable): Turn in like a Special token. Get a draw from a bag that contains either some chunk of gold or an elixer.<br /><br />Wand of lower resistance (charged item): expend a charge, target's saving throws drop. Amount of drop is negotiable.<br /><br />Stone of Sequester (expendable): target creature is 'removed' for 3 rounds. during that time, players can prepare or whatever but no harm can be done to the creature and vice versa.<br /><br />Potion of stoneskin: First physical hit has no effect<br /><br />Scroll of magic weapon: adds +1/+1 to target weapon<br /><br />Wand of Fairy Fire (charged item): Target takes a -2 hit to AC.<br />

<br />This scenario could still be done if there was a "Lesser Belt of Initiative."  No roll means no bonus.  That's it.<br />
