In 2006, one of the things one group had a kick out of was:  <br /><br /><br />We we botched the VEIL room while attempting to revive a dead party member.<br />The DM had the party member raise as the ghoul and attack the party.<br />The DM had the player roll the monster's attacks (against me).<br />The player had a blast playing the badguy (perhaps because it was against me and not one of his buddies).<br /><br />Just at thought if we do a cursed item.<br />I can see a helm that turns you evil when you put it on and you start attacking the party members.<br /><br />

<br /> i had an interesting idea. of all the new tokens coming out make a "few" of them cursed, but jeff not tell anyone. cursed items are supposed to be indistinguishable from their normal counterparts. no special tokens are required then. you could have 3 cursed items, one for each day, only to be revealed by jeff on the morning of said day. he only tells the DM's or player coaches if it might need to be marked on the player card somehow. BUT the players should definately be in the dark.<br /><br />day 1: players may not know they are carrying a -2 broadsword. <br /><br />day 2: then the next day it might be the wand of magic missiles that strikes the closest party memberfor 1 or 2 points.<br /><br />day 3: the master work bard instrument takes on a persona of its own and continues to play on its own distracting the party, thus incurring "bad things".<br /><br /><br /> just a thought on cursed items.<br /><br />DM - "what do you know? the monster attackes you again"<br />player - "no problem. i got great AC."<br />*after a few rounds and  damage*<br />DM - "man, you just have no luck at all. he goes after you AGAIN"<br />player - "this is wrong"  :mad:<br />DM - "but you got great AC, remember"  ;/<br />*player walking out of room with 1 hp and grumbling*<br />DM whispers in his ear - "did you even think that +2 bracers could be a cursed item"<br />player -  =|<br />

<br /><br />Smak,<br /><br />  I think that this could make a bunch of whiners really annoyed, so I don't suggest it. What might be super fun though, it to have a an innoncuous item/weapon in a room. The first person to pick it up is awarded a cursed something token, and has to use it to fight for the rest of the adventure. It would be an impediment for the adventure, but then something likely valuable to traders after the adventure is over. Or, if Jeff didn't want to do a token for it, it could be something that you have to carry in your hand while sliding. There was soemthing along these lines in 2005 and it was hilarious. <br />

<br /><br />Sure, stuff like that is a blast!  I remember our fighter got turned into a hobbit one adventure and had to fight on his knees the rest of the adventure (which for him was one more room).

I could see fun with "Drink Me" potions in one room on that line of thought.<br /><br />Or cursed items that make you do things. Such as cursed dancing shoes.

No, my evenings are spent in the tavern. I have more fun working with my tavern crew in the evenings than I would being a wall flower.<br /><br />But still, it could be funny. Can't be any worse than cowbell, can it?

<br />Hubby and I were discussing at lunch (yep, we need a life) a pseudo-cursed item.  10-25% of the time it misfires or doesn't work properly, and a bad effect happens.  It could allow a somewhat more powerful item at a lower slot, with people taking a chance whenever they use it.<br /><br />Our implementation was a Pipe of *something or other*<br /><br />Take a round to put in your 'tobacco' and light it, then everyone gets +1 to hit/+1 damage for the rest of the room.  Limited charges (plugs of tobacco).  Chance that your tobacco got wet/moldy/whatever, and instead you end up with a stinking cloud - party has to make a fort save or spend a round retching.  <br /><br />Hmmm... maybe too weak.  <br /><br />Anyway - Jeff, I found a cool prop for this item at a garage sale today.  I can (almost) promise that it's not a crack pipe IRL.  I hope.  <br /><br />binia

Wand of alteration (UR)<br /><br />Can be used in place of any single dungeon only ingredient in making a combo item(with a common token that was presumably altered). Item could have a certain number of charged before being used up.<br /><br />Scroll of Legend Lore (Rare)<br /><br />User gets one pick among a separate group of hints from the normal hints that are each significantly useful

David,<br />      I really like the Scroll of Legend Lore idea.  It seems like an extremely doable token and at the rare level doesn't put an extreme amount of them out there.  <br /><br />Kim

A couple more ideas:<br /><br />Gems:<br />Common: banded or moss agate, rhodochrosite, freshwater pearl<br />Uncommon: chalcedony, chrysopase, sard, jasper, rose or smoky quartz, pink pearl<br />Rare: spinel, tourmaline, alexandrite<br />Ultra-rare: jacinth<br /><br />Common item: granite dice, boarskin hat<br />Uncommon: bone dice, feather mask, silver and blue quartz ring<br />Rare: jade dice, silver and lapis mug, tapestry<br /><br />Items that currently don't have many choices for their respective slots (these should probably all be rares)<br />Counterstrike bracers--once per dungeon get a free attack on a monster if it attacks you and misses<br />Goodbery bracelet--allows druid to heal up to 5 points per day divided in any way she feels fit<br />Ghost Shroud (an armor wearable by wizards) +1 AC. all melee attacks affect incorporeal<br />Boots of landing: Take 2 fewer dice of damage from a fall<br />Arcanist Gloves: Once/day double damage from magic missiles<br />Devastation gauntlets: If you roll a crit, you do an extra 10 points of damage, once/day<br />Gloves of agile striking: 1st ranged attack per combat does +4 damage if it hits<br />Ring of Water breathing<br />Cloak of elemental protection once/day resist 10 damage<br />Safewing emblem--once only then discarded feather fall<br />Golembane scarab--allos user to ignore DR from golems, has to be worn for 24 hours to work<br />Lesser belt of battle--+2 initiative<br />Eternal wand of magic missile-once/combat get a free casting of magic missile<br />Mac-Furmidh Cittern nce/day cast cure light wounds<br /><br />Uncommon potions:<br />Barkskin +2 AC for one room<br />Heroism: +2 saves, +2 hit for one room<br /><br />Edit:forgot about jasper--thanks for the correction Kim
