TOPIC: Re: Need Your Token Ideas for 2008!

<br />Wow...awesome ideas and feedback.  Thanks to everyone for their suggestions and that awesome chart Mike.<br /><br />And thanks for the war-time idea John, but we are going in a slightly different area.  From now on, some of the treasure tokens you find will be directly tied to the environment you are adventuring in that year.  So, if in 2008 we have an adventure set in an old haunted monastery which was famous for the spirits it made, you might find a lot of treasure related to spirits or even the evil army that is swarming the place.  Most of these "location specific" items will be GP-related like a crystal decanter (worth 15 GP) or an Orc Scourge (barbed whip).<br /><br />Whatever we come up with -- some of the items will be altered to fit this year's adventure envirnoment.  This idea was explored with the Alchemist Pouch this year, and it will roll forward into the regular tokens in 2008.  And again...we will have a few "dungeon only" tokens as well.<br /><br />Keep your ideas coming -- and thanks for all the great ideas in the early Topic last year.  Both are wells of inspiration.  And please don't be offended if we don't use your ideas!  We can't use them all, but maybe next year we can use it.  (Just ask Douglas!)<br /><br />Thanks again and I will do whatever I can to keep the "power creep" from happening in 2008.  <br />

Semi-themed ideas with the monastery:<br /><br />Holy Candlestick - Bless to entire party for the duration of the room. (Consumable. Perhaps candle could even be blown out early by a monster instead of their attack.)<br />Scroll of Exchange - uses the 3rd ed cleric idea of swapping out a spell for more healing. Cleric may exchange one spell to regain a healing spell.<br />Prayer Beads -a  +1 to all healing spells, usable by Cleric, Druid or Paladin (Amulet slot)<br />Monk's Bread - offers +2 hp of healing (if consumed along with the Monk's Wine they get an extra +2 for a total of +6)<br />Monk's Wine - offers +2 healing (if consumed along with the Monk's Bread they get an extra +2 for a total of +6)<br />Monk's Mantle - a +1 to AC (Monks only. Armor slot)<br /><br />Other:<br />Widseth's Wondrous Whistle magic bard instrument. Magical music effects linger for an extra round allowing bard to fight every other round. Same bonuses as MW instrument<br />Magical Bard Instrument +2 to hit and +2 to damage  (basically offers a +1 to hit over the MW bard instrument, an already powerful item)

<br /><br />How about just Astronaut Diapers?  Don't have to use up a 'slot' (har har)!

<br />Personally I'd like to avoid consumables at Ultra-Rare as much as possible.  It is so hard to get Ultra-Rares, people are very hesitant to use many of the Ultra-Rares as a one-shot item.  <br />

Kind of an aside, but how about making the purp Ring of Protection stackable with the red one?  At least then the purp wouldn't be nerfed so bad.
