My first TD was the 2004 at GenCon SoCal. I started with one bag, then 10, then I realized I was bringing some friends so another 10. Only kept the gems and Steel Flasks, the rest was traded away when I was able to return to GenCon in 2007. Now I have a team of 7 players (myself included) whom I must equip in exchange for their protection (friends, yes, but we operate as a Mercenary company in the employ of the Bard of the Party) and have tons of fun.
I think that by having a team of players I need to support is what made me a tokenholic, because now I need 7 of everything that is essential to improving survival rates in TD (Guantlets, Magic Weapons, and of course Steel Mirrors).
I think Raven needs to be in under 2003 - As can anyone else say they held onto the time slot tokens from that year?

I don't think I was a tokenholic in 2003. I kept the time slot tokens because I was a TD-holic. :)

Of course, I did buy 3 bags of tokens in 2003, and lovingly sorted them, and played with them, and listened to the sweet sounds they made as the little wood chips rattled against eachother. But that doesn't mean I was an addict, or anything. I swear - I didn't inhale! It only looked like I was breathing deeply to catch a whiff of the remaining fumes from the token-printing process. I don't feel a driving need to buy more tokens. I can stop any time I want to.

I just... come to the tokenholic anonymous meetings because I like the coffee. That's all.

:sad5: And I thought it was because you liked to see my corsets/bodices. *sniffle, sniffle* Raven doesn't love me any more.

Shhhhh! That's supposed to be our little secret! If people find out about the fabulous costumes you wear to the meetings, then we'll have all sorts of people claiming to be tokenholics, just to glimpse your magnificent handiwork (not to mention your delightfully pixie-spry body ;) ) Can you imagine it... people showing up at the door, saying "I'm a tokenholic. I've got, like, 2 small shields. And... um... a rope. Yeah, I'm really into these whatchamacallits. I'd better drown my sorrows in coffee. Where's that tavern wench with the sweet pointed ears?"
We like to keep our Tavern Wenches to ourselves!

The fact that I held onto ALL the tokens I got in 2004 I think I will claim infection in 2004.
Technically, I think Kathy has one of our time slot tokens from '03.

I do, but I didn't hold onto it on purpose--just found it in the basement.
Hey, I'll have you know that ONLY Raven gets away with trying to butter me up like that! Oh wait. . . *little laugh*

Oh please, I'm quite sure they put me at the door to scare away people. Why do you think the tavern is kept dim? We pixies are odd looking little things, but we're hard workers.
Now that Changeling was just lovely! And she had the most darling pointed ears and gorgeous red hair. There are many fabulous femmes and fellas that work the tavern. It's no wonder you want to keep them to yourself. Just so long as I still get to put them to work in the tavern. Good help is so hard to find these days, and my crew is simply irreplacable!

And Forsaken you stop that thought right there about buttered pixie on rye bread!

I still have my time slot token from 2003, but I wasn't a tokenholic in 2003. I didn't buy any bags in 2003 and only one bag in 2004. In 2005 I got 10 bags, then in 2006 90 bags (including the 15 free ones). Of course in 2007 I went totally berserk. I'd have to say I hit tokenholic status sometime between 2006 & 2007 =)

i put you in the 2006 range. i'm taking a guess that in 2006, "after" the con, you wished you had got more tokens. then figured you could wait until next year and boy did time go slow.

is that a pretty good guess?
