At the end of the Skull Bearer’s event there was mention of a power related to the skull. Is there an official statement on that, or can we assume that the ring swapping is the only new power?

Edit: I now see that the ring swapping happens in an instant dungeon so I’m assuming the powers are one and the same.

Is there any chance we could get a "doesn't effect the party card" search filter category added to the tokendb

Just to make sure I understand, if you begin the adventure with rings that affect the party card or have a set bonus (think Ring of Focus, SoREC, and Muk's), then this power isn't usable at all? Or is it that the ring you swap in can't have party card or set stats?

Love stuff like this! It's subtle game mechanics like this that add to the experience for long-time players but aren't necessary for everyone to use.

If a replacement 8th level power is being introduced, it'd be nice if it made use of the Semi-Lich Skulls which have been made defunct by transmuting the teeth. Since the new ability is already very restrictive and consumes your once per game use of psychic power, would it be too much of a stretch to just allow a player to instead choose to apply the effects of a single ring from their collection to a single room if they have the Semi-Lich Skull equipped, without any need to swap out an existing ring?

For example:

Tier 8 Psychic Power: Ring Initiate
Once per adventure as a Free Action, you may swap out one ring you're currently wearing and replace it with another you possess. However, there are some restrictions:
Neither swapped ring can affect stats recorded on the party card.
Neither ring can affect your max HP.
Neither ring can be part of a set--whether or not the set bonus affects the party card.
The swapped rings must have different names.

- If a player has Semi-Lich Skull equipped, they may choose to simply apply the new ring's ability without any need to swap out an existing one. If they do so, the new ring may only be used in a single room.

It's probably just wishful thinking, but since the new ability has restrictions and a cost already, it doesn't feel like the above would be unbalanced.
I play Rogue. Occasionally I even play Rogue well.

No, for a number of reasons. One of those reasons is that what's recorded on the party card changes fairly regularly.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?

It feels like if something is going to start affecting the party card, that needs to be communicated well in advance and that TokenDB should have time to be updated. It would truly suck to build your character expecting to be able to use the ring swap ability, only to find out that either your initial ring or the ring you were planning to swap to suddenly impacts the party card and is now invalid.

Correct
Neither the incoming nor the outgoing ring can affect the party card.
Neither the incoming nor the outgoing ring can break up a set bonus.

Not sure what you mean by "in an instant dungeon", but in case there was any misunderstanding, the swap requires a Free Action to activate.

The 8th level power on tokendb says “ Swap in a new ring inside the instant* dungeon**”

I was hearing some questions about Skullcon attendees about the new power, but my understanding is that it’s this ring swapping power.

Somepeople were thinking it might be a self-maze effect.

Not sure what it is supposed to be.
