Would like to know what to do if our local folks want to send them all in together to save shipping (for us and TD)

Regarding the limited quantity of map tokens, why not just re-use the maps which are turned in?

Also a question for me, since Lokin lives about 90 minutes away and usually tosses her transmutes in with mine

Jeff said earlier that TD is only ordering enough extra treasure for the treasure boxes to account for the number of Pirate's Treasure Map tokens made, so there isn't any extra treasure to allow reusing them.

i still like the older year treasure boxes,

i know the logistics would be a nightmare... sorting all the same year by UC, R, MB, UR, etc.

I'd pull all of my treasure pulls from an all-2003 treasure box if possible. :)

If I may, I would actually recommend pushing the redeem-by date just a little bit back. September 1st, 2023 - assuming we don't have more global disasters - is going to be the first day of Pax West. Now, assuming True Dungeon still makes its appearance there, that will mean everyone with these tokens will rush to redeem them the first day of the con. This, in turn, could create supply issues for the Saturday and Sunday of the con. I would hate to see people clean out the stock of treasure tokens and leave the other players having to get their mailed to them after the fact. (There is something to be said for the fun of pulling the treasure oneself.) Or, people who lose track of the day/forget will end up badgering the staff to still honor the tokens after they've officially expired. While I imagine a lot of the volunteers would be amenable to this, I would hate for them to have the extra work on their plate. Or imagine if one person allows it and another doesn't, then people will start getting angry.

Granted, I have no idea how many players with these tokens will attend Pax West and how any of these tokens they'll be able to collect before then. But Sep 2023 is over 20 months away. If even one person gets 5 maps a month for 20 months, they can roll up to Friday of Pax West demanding 1000 treasure tokens, even more if they exploit the system to get more than 5 maps a month via friends/family.

Now, is that super likely? Probably not. It's only one con on the west coast, but even the prospect of enough people bumrushing the treasure box on Friday to run it too low for the rest of the weekend is kind of worrisome. But if the deadline is extended even as short as September 3rd, 2023, people might have the decency to wait til Sunday just before pack-up. And if stock runs out at that point, I'm sure they could get the rest mailed to them since they were there in person.

I know this is all rambling and hypothetical, but... food for thought? Thanks for reading. :)

Jeff has inferred that the treasure for the Pirate Treasure Map (PTM) will come from a separate supply (which I assume will contain just enough treasure to cover the PTMs that were transmuted). So, any redemptions should not have any impact on the treasure used for the dungeon runs.

I also don't expect a lot of hoarding for the very end, because Jeff has stated that their is a limited supply of PTMs and that they won't be reused (which allows him to assure he has enough treasure).

I could be wrong, but those are my initial thoughts. I know at one point Jeff thought about capping the number of PTMs that could be redeemed per calendar month. If he suspects people are gaming the system, he could revisit that, although I think that would be very hard to monitor and there are legitimate reasons for people to have a large number of them (i.e. friends/family who legitimately want the tokens, but couldn't make it to the con).

One question I have: Will they have premade bags of PTM treasure? Or will you be required to pull tokens individually from a treasure box. The latter could really slow things down, especially if someone shows up with multiples. But that would be one way of discouraging hoarding.

Ah yeah that would make a lot of sense!

I don't know how the players are distributed across the nation, but being in OR, I think Pax is the only in-person event I can reasonably attend? Even then it's quite a long drive for me and - aside from loving my debut into the TD scene - I didn't really like the event. So if I can't make Pax 2022, Fri of Pax 2023 would be my last chance to redeem the treasure unless I sent maps to someone else and trusted them to send me back the treasure. So a redeeming cap is an idea that is a bit win-lose whether you implement it or you don't.

I would think sealed sets of 10 would make the most sense, even if it's less fun, just for the sake of not clogging up a line.

Just bumping this question...I know we have lots of TD couples/families and if we're going to be limited on monthly turn ins, I'd like to save some moolah on shipping both ways where possible. If both of our accounts are of the level that proves we're not making a fake account for out cat, that is...just a thought and wish.

I'll second this question for me and Lokin. We generally attend together and just run transmutes via my account since I do most of the trading. It'd be nice to be able to send our sets in together and avoid the unnecessary additional cost for shipping

Please see this post for info on Pirate's Treasure Map shipping policy. Per below, orders for level rewards may still be combined--as long as the orders do not also contain Pirate's Treasure Maps.

Combining Level Rewards
When more than one person wants to combine shipping for a Level Reward, this is how to do it:
  1. Before anyone places any order, the players need to determine who the items will be shipped to. We'll refer to the person who will receive all the items as the Primary.
  2. Each player places their own order for the item(s) they need--preferably at nearly the same time.
  3. Every non-Primary player needs to put in the Notes field that they would like their order to be shipped to the Primary. Be certain to include the Primary's name and mailing address. They don't all have to email us, simply putting it in the Notes field is fine.
  4. The Primary also needs to put in a note saying the other order(s) should be shipped with their order.
Note: The Primary cannot just say, "Ship these other orders to me." Unless the secondaries also indicate their order is to ship together, we cannot combine them.
  5. When we ship the items, we will refund all but the Primary's shipping charges.
We ask folks to do it this way so our order system knows when a person has claimed their Level Reward.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .
