I'm willing to try it if you send it over. I don't overly care what con it's from, the event is the event. It's the same XP either way.

To that point, anyone got leftover codes from the 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 seasons? Any or all? He ran every run, every year.

I've lost codes before and had good results from just emailing TD and asking for them. I've had to go a year back or more before. I'm not sure they always have them for older runs (my guess is the random generator they use just prints them labels and they don't go back to it so when they run out of physical cards, it might not be possible to get codes from them.)

If that doesn't work, quite a few of us have stacks of them. I don't keep them for any particular reason now that I think about it - I just have them in with survivor pins, etc that I throw in a storage box post-cons. People like Jedi likely go a lot further back than me, though.

I usually throw them out after the current season. The only reason I have any 2019's is because my company's office was closed in May. So everything from my desk is sitting sitting in a box awaiting to reopen again. Had it been any other year they would have been long gone since they have no value behind helping folks out. Generally folks realize they have an issue shortly after the cons.

I figure if someone paid for a run and an XP card is included as part of their completion rewards, then they're welcome to do whatever they want with their completion rewards- be it resell, throw in the garbage, or stick in a drawer for the next 20 years. It honestly doesn't feel all that different from people buying and selling Patron and Adventurer's Guild codes.

Exactly but a Puritan has to puritan.

- Selling tokens for $50-2000k is ok
- Selling early access codes just to buy runs is ok
- Selling patron pins is ok
- Selling Golden tickets (Even pre-selling them with no guarantee of getting one) is ok
- Loaning out Treasure Enhancers and wanting a cut is ok
- Not allowing others a chance to access Prestige Classes (Considered sacrilege up until the change this year which is still balked at BTW) was/is ok.
- Emailing/PMing the powers that be during and post FFF Round Token Development to get their way is ok.
- Selling codes from swag is not ok because someone *might* get another token, up a level or two and possibly check a bag at a live Con (when they happen again). This will ruin everything and make the world unjust.... hurry, grab the pitchforks!!!

LOL

Good reply Jack. I agree that it would be a weird line to not be allowed to sell xp codes but all other random stuff is fair game and “normal”.

Thanks, If it fuels the game and the buyers/sellers are happy how is this a bad thing?

Well, if you or others want to toss some my(his) way, I'd appreciate it! Especially big they're just lying around.

My take. Much like a number of things in True Dungeon, XP is on the honor system.

You get a card. But its not specific to your difficulty. You enter that. You ran non lethal but claim Nightmare? No one but you is going to know. You are on your honor.

You manage your HP in the dungeon. The DM is not going to audit you. You are on your honor.

You say you have a cloak of shadowskin and therefore avoid that fatal damage. Most DMs aren't going to ask to see it.

Eventually if enough people abuse the system, some or all of that may change. But until then, its up to you to decide what "on your honor" means and is worth to you.

I think the difference between xp codes and other stuff is some people do take xp seriously. Plus your xp level (again to some people) is short hand for how long you've been around. Maybe not for everyone but for some it crosses a line. Personally I would prefer if the codes stopped working after some amount of time.

That way people who suddenly remember all the xp they forgot to enter years ago at least have to ask Jeff to fix it. It doesnt eliminate the problems inherent in the system but at least it doesn't make it so tempting.

I saw that people may have older codes that they are willing to share. I am looking for a "N3 Vault" from 2018. My first run. Back then i did not keep it or register it as i expected to do only 1 run a year. (20 runs later, boy was I foolish...)

thanks,
Dave
