It is HIGHLY unlikely that Arcane Recipes will ever return. Highly unlikely!

And while I can't see the future, I can tell you that in the extreeeeemely implausible event that they do come back, Arcane Recipes (or their equivalent) will definitely not be hidden in the dungeon. Players have torn up the dungeon looking for far less precious tokens. They also won't be in treasure boxes because (among other reasons) the odds are too great that a new player would draw it and in turn get %#$@'d over by an unscrupulous trader who knows what that kind of a token is worth. And yes, it's happened in the past.

know what you mean saw a dude pull a CoA on his first run ever and someone offered him $100 for it thankfully he didn't take the deal

If anyone ever sees that, please alert a director member immediately. Any volunteer with a headset can summon a director.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

Have 1 available as a charity auction thing to benefit some cause near and dear to Jeff and crew. Not gold - actual cash that goes to The American Cancer Association or to a family facing a tragic loss, etc i’m sure some people would complain that the item went to whoever dished put the most cash but who cares as long as it made a difference. Something like that could raise $10k-$20k pretty easily.

Have the second be a pure lottery. To qualify, you’d have to be at least 5th level (ie not going to someone who might never play again) and you get a drawing for completing a dungeon (max 1 per sungeon.) maybe make it a bit harder like you have to complete everything in the series then tuen in your completion tokens to enter (again limits on number of entries.)

Orr, even better, have the 2nd be something you have to discover IN the dungeons somewhere hidden so well that it may go years being moved from dungeon to dungeon when nobody finds it each year.

Fred

I like the charity idea, but don’t just give it to the largest bidder. Sell raffles tickets - I would buy one, or even a handful, with cash. I probably don’t win, but at least it goes to a good cause.

Honestly, this is one of the few ways I would personally like to see, in that crazy unlikely event that it happened. No worries about some newbie getting shafted when they pull something they don't understand, no radical inflation of component prices, the money helps out a good cause.

Have the raffle run the same time as token sales-Nov 1 to early October, tickets available to buy online only, but advertise it clearly at cons (this minimizes the chance of someone's illegible writing on a raffle ticket being a problem and is another way to pull newer players to the website).

I mean, it's obvious that there is almost no chance of it happening, but IF it did, this is one of the few ways I can see doing it without destroying any token markets or worrying about someone getting treated unfairly by the process. Hell, if it went smooth enough, maybe it could be one per year

If I see it again I'll do just that thanks for telling me

If they come back I would definitely support either RAFFLE tickets at a cost of $10 each, with all proceeds going to a charity and the resulting recipe being soulbound to the raffle winner.

Or a 1 per person entry form via an official TD website that validates each entrant has an active account on TD forums and has played at least 1 event for XP in the last 3 years. The resulting recipe being soulbound to the drawing winner.

I think having the recipe itself be soulbound eliminates the issues of scamming or scalping.

Have an alternative prize option of any Legendary token of your choice if the winner does not wish to craft a soulbound item or the ingredients to do so are out of their reach. If this happens it consumes the recipe for that year.

It's fun to dream...

I've wondered if limited time artifacts (e.g. good for one season) or one that mandatorily changes hands seasonally would be a way to introduce something like this. The Odin's Medallion's are darn close to an artifact (for the ones that got made permanent) - especially if you primarily play one of the classes whose class based legandary is compatible with the medallion.

Since I'd rather they not come back, that's dream granting mode. :)

The duality of the dream crusher is that, in fact, dreams are both crushed and granted simultaneously based on the perspective of the observer.

Kind of like Schrödinger's Dream. Both crushed and granted at the same time. :)
