Could I possibly impose upon you to give me a post-QTR "executive summary" of those questions? I believe at lease one of those questions was answered in the QTR.
I shall certainly try
.
Although I did try to explain (no, wait, that would take too long, to sum up...) the points of confusion on the thread and I'm finding it very, very hard to convey concisely in writing. If it's not clear below maybe PM me and we can hop on a 5 minute zoom or phone call.
There seem the be the following questions:
1. In order to use Boost, do I need to first generate a spell to be modified with the Boost, or does the Boost Mage Power generate its entire effect using only a Free Action and requiring not other "inputs."
E.g. when I use Alter, I must first cast a spell (say with a standard action), and I can then use Alter (free action mage power) to change its damage type.
Is Boost like Alter in that way that you must first cast a spell and then modify it with Boost?
Or instead does Boost let me change an ally's damage using a Free Action only, leaving me with a Standard action left over to do other things.
2. When I use Boost, is the spell used to calculate the Boosted damage crossed off the character card?
3. When I use Boost, does the Boosted spell have both its normal effect (e.g. targets a monster with full base and bonus damage), and also the effect of improving the damage of an ally's melee or missile attack?
Once those are sorted out, there are some independent questions about interactions of Boost and other Mage Powers.
