Um - I'm not sure you are stating this correctly, it wouldn't be double double (X3) - just X2. However, a natural 20 could invoke special token properties (killing dragons, undead, etc depending on the token).

Fred

!= means does not equal. He stated it the same as you.

fury doubles it to 40 pts.
oh my I slid a 20.
now it doubles to 40 pts?

incorrect

Jeff Martin wrote
Fury: One per game, barbarians (whether Raging or not) can announce that they are going to "Fury" before making their attack slide. If they hit, the damage done with that one slide is treated as a standard 2× critical hit. It does not count as a natural 20, it's "just" a crit. That said, a Fury-fueled attack that actually lands on the 20 spot still counts as a natural 20 and can trigger effects which require a natural 20.

TLDR: Fury + Natural 20 != double double damage

We now know that Fred definitely doesn't do any programming in his profession.

okay? now i'm back to confused! :S

tell gm that i'm in fury mode.....almost typed furry. :woohoo:
slide a hit and add damage up
damage wheel 40. damage bonus 45. total of 85.
fury doubles it to 170.
my war maul crits on 19 or 20. so would it double or triple it again? 340pts? 510? or does it stop at 170?

don't panic I suck at sliding.

My understanding:

Fury doesn't "double your damage" - it turns hits into crits. If you hit was already a crit, it does nothing.

The OP in this thread says:

Fury: One per game, barbarians (whether Raging or not) can announce that they are going to "Fury" before making their attack slide. If they hit, the damage done with that one slide is treated as a standard 2× critical hit. It does not count as a natural 20, it's "just" a crit. I know that I'm a voice in the wilderness on this,,, but since there's still time,,, Jeff,,, please, please,,, PLEASE reconsider making the upcoming shirt transmute a green eldritch like the Kilt. For many people the Kilt is the first green token within reach of the non wealthy. And make no mistake, anyone in possession of a $1600 (at cheapest) pair of green Boots is wealthy by any working man's standard. I won't even begin to speak about the non attainability of the other Greens. (Sure, someone could say that "X" number of Skulls have been transmuted ,, but again,, by wealthy people. How about giving us average working stiffs a fighting chance?) At very least make them yearless so more could be transmuted with the very few ROD or RING components left available,,, can we say "reprint"???.

While I'd like to see more dark green transmutes, you didn't have to be wealthy to make the boots. One PYP order per year, for 4 years, was all you needed, or you could even have bought the boots for $100 or so each by chipping in one someone else's order. I had, and sold a pair of the transmuted boots, and while I regret letting them go, I have never been wealthy or rich by a working man's standard.

Alternatively the shirt and ring of the 5th circle form the stat of a new uber set. Gotta start somewhere right.

Can we make a new post to discuss this instead of necroing a like 3 year old thread?
