Triple (last year at 20%, one run got you your set of four. This year at 10%, three runs gets you your set of six. On average)

Triple (need x1.5 bits x2 runs per bit)

UGH. That's really not what I want to hear

Will be paying scalper prices for the bits they are missing, or will end up only being able to craft half of the tokens they've been building to for 4 years.

People with access to other conventions in the yearly cycle will have less issues since it's generally easy to get additional runs at the other conventions but adding new runs to your GenCon schedule at this point is not exactly easy to do.

These other conventions often have a need for more volunteers......

Perhaps those who want more can do more to get them?

I realize that everyone has different circumstances (family, job, income, debt, etc) but if something is important, there is a way to make it happen, or it isn't all that important.

There were at least 100 beads made at Origins until we ran out.
There were people coming up to make well after. Some with more than 3.
So the bits are out there not as hard to get as some make it seem

I think we are going to see slot more people needing to buy bits on the market after gencon and even gameholecon, personally I won't be able to make my head till gameholecon now because 20 pulls isn't going to cut it at gencon.

I don't think that is true. I do think it may require a bit of time invested in trading and talking to newer players, but out of luck seems a bit harsh.

What I do want from the community, especially at GenCon, is to see veterans and those who know protecting new players so they don't get taken advantage of in trades.

If you see something, say something in this case. We want the new players to come back, and nothing turns people off to a game faster than being taken advantage of.

You’re right, I should have said it in terms of “20 pulls vs 60,” not “1 game vs 3.”

+1 as well. And remember, Jeff did say that he ordered the same number of bits as last year so as long as all treasure gets drawn the bits will be out in the market, just might have to hunt a bit more.
