I hope everyone else's luck improves with GHC. GenCon is my last big con of 2019. After my best year in terms of luck on draws in 2018, 2019 was the exact opposite (which is ok since it averages out in the wash :).

2019 total draws:

GenCon: 45 pulls
Exhalted 3 pt (dog) =1
MB = 3
Map frag = 1
Rare = 25
Uncommon = 15

Origins: 245 Pulls for 2019
Reserve Bars (5K) = 1
Exhalted (3pt) = 3 (2 dogs, 1 whetstone)
MB = 28
Map frag = 6
Devilward = 1
Greeves = 12
Shoes of Netherstep = 1
Trade 2 = 1 (oil of enchantment)
Trade 1 = 2 (darkwood plank and dwarven steel)
Rare: 100
Uncommon: 81

Not entered but also notable
Origins 2019 draws off the 2018 treasure box: 240

Exhalted (3pt) = 3
MB = 48
Greeves = 7
Ring of the Annointed = 1
Charms of Transmorph = 5
Trade 1 = 4 (minotaur hide and dwarven steel)
Rare: 65
Uncommon: 107

2019 totals:
Total pulls: 530
1 5k bar
1 enchanter's whetstone
76 MB
7 Map Fragments
5 Charms of Transmorph
1 trade 2
5 trade 1
Everything else was rare or uncommon

Of course, last year, I had less than 100 pulls and got 8 or 9 UR and a 4 point relic. If you average it all out, it's about right.

:)

Did the counting

600 pulls
1 4 star
61 bits
21 RRF

3 trade 2

Pretty damned awful

Also, one token with no sticker. Clearly that was supposed to be 2 or 3 URs.

I have locked the Origins tab so no one enters data on it. I will try to remember to do that in the future. I added a tab for Pax West. I made all the future tabs the same as Gen Con tab. If there is anything else that needs fixed please let me know.

Really surprised at the lack of enhanced and exalted tokens drawn.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

I started to wonder if everything added to the treasure mix was about cut in half like the monster bits. Like Jeff ordered the same number of extras to add in, but double the uncommon and rare mix. I don't have any proof to back this up yet, but we might have the data to support this theory shortly. I did notice that the number of Greaves also is lower. I like that but it is lower, but it would help support that theory as well.

My other theory is I am partial to blame. I mentioned to someone a couple years ago that I try not to make transmutes until after Gen Con because I pulled so many the previous year. I started making them post Gen Con after I saw what I pulled and then knew what I needed. I didn't make the relic druid or rogue items this year in case I hit one. It would surprise me if others did something similar. I know one player this year that made the legendary Druid Necklace and ended up with 2 relic Druid tokens (one from the GT bag, 1 pulled). Maybe this is a way to encourage more transmutes. I think this theory is less likely than the first but it is a theory.

I lean towards your first theory. The rapid growth in Cons may be a contributing factor. Also, I believe Brad Mortensen predicted that the growth in TE tokens would lead to dilution of the pool.

Me too a little - but I’m glad in a way - I hated pulling a potion distilled healing and feeling that was one of my “special” pulls.

I understand that but it seems that special in general went down. I would rather pull a distilled healing that a rare or uncommon from the standard packs.

I was really surprised at how few special tokens were there also, I don't think it's just the dilution of the treasure pool. Other than Rares, Uncommons, and Treasure box only like Greaves, bits, relic fragments, and the rare amulet, I only got six "special" tokens out of 640 pulls. One admittedly was terrific. :)
