I fly to most TD events and I am almost always stopped by TSA. But I do have more tokens than most would fly with. They are typically more concerned with bags or loose tokens than they are with ones that are nicely organized (e.g. in a poker chip case).

Regarding the 60-lb bucket of tokens; in the past my carry-on bag has been completely full of tokens to transmute and I have definitely put more than 60-lb of tokens in there. The hard part is getting it into the overhead bin. But I have done it a few times.

We buy, sell, and trade True Dungeon tokens. We also have a convenient consignment program where you can sell your own tokens.

They reacted OK to me, just asked what they were, but those were just my treasure bags. Now that I don't live local I will be doing the USPS flat rate box as described in the TEP pages. My bucket is already at 60 pounds so no way to get it on a plane.

Ha, around the time I was thinking "maybe if it is too heavy for a carry on, you could just check a bag", I stopped myself and acknowledged how much crazier that sounded than to just use flat rate shipping. <_<

That being said, If I did intend to check a mostly empty bag with the intention of filling it up with cool con swag to bring back home, I suppose that would be a lot less crazy- no reason not to fill it up with stuff I plan to mulch anyways if it was otherwise going to be mostly empty on the flight there.

Can't say I envy the task of sticking a 60+lb bag full of metal tokens into an overhead bin. XD

Yeah, I'm stopped almost every time too, but I arrive early to the airport and plan to be stopped each time.

My bags are heavy too, but I recently started using a Zuca rolling bag. I use this one . And in the Large Utility Pouches that come with it, I squeeze in these small plastic cases to carry tokens to trade while I'm at conventions.

The plastic cases are a tight fit, and you probably don't need to put them in the pouches anyway, but it works for me. And once this is full of tokens, it's heavy, but not too heavy for me to lift and store in the overhead compartment. Which it's designed to do and it fits!

I don't know about other airlines, but Delta's website explicitly states that they do NOT have a weight limit for carry-on bags. Out of curiosity, I weighed the bag I took to Origins this year - 87 pounds. As others have said, your bag WILL get manually searched at security, so plan for that. Something about it showing as a solid black block on the x-ray scanner...

As for carrying tokens through the dungeon, I keep all of my builds in a zippered three ring binder that I clip to my belt, but a shoulder strap can work too. I have a Whitman wallet for weapons and things I need to show the DM, and a small bits box full of consumables in another pocket.

As a random related question: has anyone tried using pogs containers for TD tokens? If so, how well does that turn out?

If you are talking about the old pog page protectors from ultra pro then the answer is that coin sheets work better.

Personally I get the once’s from hobby lobby for regular tokens like completion tokens that I just put away.

For you high end stuff TD tavern has some great pages that eliminates the problem of tokens falling out of the book.

If you mean the tubes, they usually work very well.

I like the one's with latches, certain sizes of specimen containers work well for that reason of having thicker plastic and a locking/latching lid.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

Awesome, I think that I would mostly use them for tokens I kinda wanna keep but don't really think worth a slot in a more showy container. My main concern would have been whether they were comparable in sizes so I didn't end up grabbing some storage only to find out my tokens didn't fit. XD

I've used the Whitman cardboard books with the 41mm coin holder pages. But each page only holds 9 tokens (albeit very securely and protected), but each book for a build takes multiple pages. As I now am doing builds for fuller groups, I had done the normal coin sheets but tokens fall out so I am likely to make the leap to the sheets that Trent and Kirk sell as they seem to be a thinner way to keep all the builds, along with some wallets for in-dungeon items. It's become too hard remembering if my little red bag in my pocket has healing or is it the gray one or the blue one- or was that where the scrolls were...

Luckily I drive so as long as my back axle can take the weight, I am good.

Silver eagle tubes are also a good size and available at most coin shops.
