For my Dwarf Fighter there are only two must haves. ISGN and the Kilt (to make the Eldritch). That will free up a ring slot as I will get 5th level from the Eldritch set. I'm looking at some 2017s I didn't get. Ring of Eel and Pouch of Tulz. Any others will be "focused" on my sons Druid build.

If your playing a dwarf just getting into URs last years bracers are a must have because they support yourbtripple crit ability so well.

If any token is a must wear then either the slot has no competition or it is probably OP. It was unlikely to go from a must wear to another must wear.

Per the topics question - I am swapping mine for a new one because it is like having a reusable combat Savior Stone tokendb.com/token/savior-stone/ that also adds +1 Saves.

Good point Ed. If it's a must wear for everyone then it is likely OP. So good to see others thinking of making different choices.

To me though, the CoS is still the best UR Cloak on the market. Why? Because being able to full on out dodge a hit is HUGE! How many times does one get targeted and hit in the dungeon? I've done runs before where I've never been targeted. 10 people on a run + 3 rooms of combat + 3-4 rounds of combat. Can someone do some analysis here for me? How many times does the sword swing your way? Two times a run, maybe 3. So to me it's still BIS. I would have to think on Grind though. Still might be solid with the extra +1 saves.

for the dungeon runs (excluding grind) it's still the best UR out there.

If you taunt/guard you might notice getting hit more often...

Really wish there was a token worth getting excited for as a dwarf to justify a pyp this year. URTE is my only given,

I'm also in the odd position of not making any Relics this year. Of course I am making two kilts and some 4c tokens, so I'm still getting my fix.

I think the new Shadowskin is still a viable token. I probably will use it no more or less than I've done in the past.

Reading some of the later comments, yeah, my transmute needs are down this year, so thankfully we have the kilt and bead. I don't plan to do any of the legendaries, but will likely do one of the relics so I have the option of going to the legendary in the future. Otherwise, it may be a year to go back and see if I want to upgrade any older relics to legendaries.

As a Fighter who has until now used the Charm of Brooching with Greater Cloak of Destiny and Shadowskin, I will keep it/trade it in ONLY until I do one of the following...

1) Pick-up a Dougal's

or

2) Transmute my GCoD to Pharcus' and get another GCoD

The original CoS saved my butt against many relentless combat DMs who wanted to stop me from continuing to hurt their monsters. However, only having this ability for one room is not as valuable to me as increasing my Saves dramatically (+3 or more) in every room.

Also, am I the only one that thinks the original CoS artwork was better? It's "standing upright" position just made it look more like a magical cloak that had a mind of it's own which related to it's amazing ability. The new one just looks like it's hanging on a hook in a mud room.

I'm sitting at your step one. I have Brooching, GCoD and Dougals. i have been saving up for Pharacus but it will be a couple years before I have the gold, barring a lucky treasure box draw.

So basically what im seeing is instead of using the absorb 1st attack 1 per combat (3-4 uses per run) which was retardly good anyway, people got mad that its once a game with a +1 saves now for never having one if you dont have healing items or cleric then save the use until an attack would deal a high amount of damage or a killing blow

For me, the thought process is this:

Will one melee/ranged hit likely take me out? Probably not. Even the crazy giants were just doing 20 points of damage. So unless I'm already severely damaged it doesn't save me, and in those cases maybe I should have healed sooner.

Will one failed save likely take me out? Sometimes. There are saves that take you completely out of combat (see stories of near TPKs in N1 room 3).

So the trade-off is a 10% better chance to avoid being taken out entirely vs. avoiding maybe 20 points of damage. The only reason the tradeoff worked in favor of the CoS before (for me) was that it was potentially 20 points of damage multiple times.

Yea for people who do have a set up character, its kinda of a downgrade but for every combat to negate possibly the only successful attack per combat was way to good, because there might have not been another attack. Because the rooms didnt do enough damage to effect nightmare players
Basically one shot the monster and wait.
