That said - maybe it was. Not counting Wertz, we've never drawn anything better than a rare in all our years of playing. This year, in about 100 draws we got 14 trophies, a Blessed Plate, an Aragonite and a +1 Mighty Sling. So it feels like this year was heavy, but that's in comparison to eight or nine lean years, so it feels like we were due.

I'm sure from what I've drawn and what I've heard drawn that this year is far above normal, probably a lot less than 2013 but I'd bet a lot higher than any other year. Personally I hope this is the new normal. It will be interesting to see.

I figure my bad luck is somebody's good luck as it seems to be that way every year. This year i finally got my CoA and with 129ish pulls saw reds and lower with 1 exception (1 5k bar). Still need to fine count bits when I'm more awake but looks like 15-20ish.

Was kinda hoping for better, especially after i saw 4 icecrags in a row pulled by a group. Otherwise it's sort and scrap and wait for next year.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

Matt, I hope you have much better luck next year! Maybe do some sealed bags, those worked out better for me than the pulls.

Interesting.

I also drew a Blessed Plate. And a +1 Mighty Sling.

And I had a group of friends (casual players) who drew a +1 Mighty Sling.

I tried, must have had bad timing as never had ability to get 10 pull bags (issues for another thread). Managed to snag the 'last 40 pull bag' on Sat morning (10am). Think that's where the 5k bar came from. Either way if nothing else the pulls are all trade goods to be as i farm purely for stuff for myself or tradegoods to improve my stuff.

Everyone will have their own individual view/piece of the what is the whole truth/luck of treasure draws in the end.

If people can get big tokens fairly easily in the treasure box then why spend time and money collecting the ingredients and crafting them?

+1 to this comment. I'm in Kirk's camp here. I just bought a +3 Baton of Focus on ebay for $150. Probably from someone that pulled it from the treasure box. With prices like this, who needs to order Tokens and transmute trade goods!!

Now that I have finished opening my treasure packs I only can say I only got 1 Baton of Focus, 0 Blessed Plate, 0 Blessed Mail, 0 Icecrag Claws over 800+ pulls. I will post the exact details later.

If someone told me this year was treasure heavy I would have to say not according to my pulls.

Wow - i thought I had bad luck. Here's hoping you make up for it in reserve bars, URs, and fleece.

Someone underpriced that item, it would probably sell for a lot more in an auction format. I'd have paid $150 for that in a heartbeat. I looked and there aren't anymore at that price. I don't think there are any others on EBay at all.

Sorry, Brian

My luck was used up in by being able to get two games that were either sold out before Gen Con officially started (Thanks, Raven!) or only 50 sold per day.
