I assure you - we've had a vigorous discussion about how to deal with it.

Your "easiest" solution is not necessarily as easy as you'd think, since we're dealing with both US and Canadian currencies, and because eBay takes fees (which some folks would rather not deal with) and because not everyone in the group has the same comfort level with allowing random folks on the forums to bid on a token (I may trust you, but does the next guy trust you?) and the people who were "in" last year may or may not be "in" next year, and really: no matter which way we choose, someone will wish it had been settled a different way.

But like I said, We are adults. We'll manage.

That, or Ro-gan's 'monopoly' comment may prove truer than any of us would like.

I appreciate the offer.

It's not about "how to best run an auction?" tho, or "how to make the most money off a token?"

The question is "How do we avoid people feeling hurt that they didn't get the token dealt with *their* way, when there are multiple conflicting ways which people want it dealt with."

Perhaps we need to trade the token for a really big bottle of Scotch and just get drunk, and see who maintains sufficient consciousness to pick up the token at the end.

The question is (and I'll be blunt here) "How do we avoid people feeling butt-hurt that they didn't get the token dealt with *their* way, when there are multiple conflicting ways which people want it dealt with."

Perhaps we need to trade the token for a jar of anti-butt-hurt cream.

my offer goes to any group

my advice would be to auction it off and donate to charity if nobody can decide

What I would really, really like to see is NO transmute.

If I ruled the world, there would be five- and eight-piece set bonuses instead. It should require less cream in sharing the orbs if everyone got to hang onto one, versus one person gaining them all.

If combined with a party wide bonus for the set, this sounds like a winner.
