I agree, this change affects a dozens of people who made significant investments. On the other hand, remember that Jeff has been dealing with more than his share of illness and death in his family and close friends. I imagine he's stretched pretty thinly, and I don't begrudge him delegating things. This is, after all, just a game, so it's hard for me to get my knickers in too much of a twist over it, even though we invested in two of the things.

Echoing what Josh and Brad just wrote, and as one who equipped our entire party with fizzy lifting packs, only to find that the PRINTED power was nullified, I can only express any consumers outrage at paying for something only to find they've been misled. And Yeah, I just bought the last segments at WYC to make two rods. I wrestled with the large cost for the added segment power, and decided the two set bonus power was worth it... About 48 hours later, it's just gone. Poof, no warning, no real discussion, just gone. After being published for what, a year? It's not right.

I'm guessing that Jeff is buried and hasn't had time yet to come up for air. He has always been extremely customer focused, so once he gets the time I'm sure he will address this issue in more detail. And hopefully take a fresh look at it.

There are still bonuses from the Eldritch Set, so those RoSP won't be worthless if you have the Supreme Ring or the Boots in a few years. And as far as the Fizzy packs? They do say Fly for one round, once per combat, which means they wouldn't work outside of combat. This made them crazy limited at the start, more so with 'errata'. I hope you got them cheap... very cheap.

I must apologize. I screwed up. When this question was brought to my attention, I had had very little sleep for many days, and I completely misunderstood the situation and the question at hand. It is no fault of Druegar, he only typed what my sleep-addled brain told him.

After your good feedback, it has been made abundantly clear that we did, in fact, already rule that the effects of the +10 healing would apply to both healing spells when used with the Lenses of Divine Sight. I had wrongly thought the issue had not been decided, and that a ruling had never been made. It most certainly already had been made in the 2014 QTR when it stated:

"...all bonuses applied to the source spell are applied to the duplicate spell."

So, the LoDS would add +10 to both healing effects if the player has a Eldritch Set bonus.

I should have waited a day, researched the subject, got feedback from a few cleric/druid players and then made a post re-affirming the power of the LoDS. Instead, I made a quick decision after very little sleep after a long weekend.

So, I apologize for all the drama and poor communication. My brothers have just concluded their once-a-year visit, and given my dad's poor health I have spent all my time with my family. I am sorry it has taken this long to set things aright.

I appreciate your patience and forgiveness for my poor stewardship of TD. And my apologies to Druegar who had to defend my poorly contrived ruling.

Thanks for sorting this out, even if it took a little while. And don't worry about the heated debate in your absence... it seems like people will find *something* to get worked up about, one way or another. I'm glad it ended on a positive note for most everyone involved.

Only Jeff could be critical of his handling of TD less then a week after giving us an EXTRA event due to answering a question while exausted. The amount of work you guys put in is simply amazing, so ya. What they said nothing to forgive.

Thanks, Jeff! I'm glad you got a lot of quality family time in the last few days, especially given your Dad's poor health. Family always comes first.

A few thoughts

Family does indeed come first

We are so very fortunate to have Jeff - who listens to his player base, puts up with our drama, and takes our feedback.

Despite being one of the people who dropped a large chunk of change to acquire an eldritch set last year, I would have been ultimately ok with a change of some sort that had a well thought out rationale, was throroughly explained, and was couched in terms of the good of the game.

Look at it this way, at the very least it gave the upper tier of the TD community something to argue about.
