TOPIC: Horn of Plenty and other such OOP tokens

Horn of Plenty and other such OOP tokens 10 years 3 months ago #1

I'd personally love to see something that functions the same as the Horn of Plenty available as a transmutable item. Ring or Amulet, worded so they won't stack. Set with about the same approximate value in tokens as the horn.

It'd keep the horn valuable while letting newer players have a chance to get the same effect.

thoughts?

It is a good topic because when the Charm of Good Fortune expires this year there will not be a treasure token boosting item being produced.

If the item functions the same as the HoP and occupies the Neck slot the it is a HoP with a different name. Unless it would cost more than an HoP to create it would lower the value of the existing HoP.

Even if it cost more to create and occupied the Ring slot it would likely lower the HoP because Ring is less contested slot than Neck.

If you wanted a new item similar to the HoP then a relic item with only a 2 multiplier is what I would suggest. Make it take the equivalent of 3 UR + trade goods to produce.

That would be a good idea.

I know Jeff said that NO Horn of Plenty re-print or re-issue for Lazlo's sane. But I think I can come up with a compromise like for example:

Eldritch's Horn of Plenty: get extra two treasure pull with successful stamp plus it's re-place Eldritch's Runestone effect.

Adamantium Horn of Plenty: Get extra two treasure pull with successful stamp plus it's +3 AC.

Mithral Horn of Plenty: Get extra two treasure pull with successful stamp plus it's re-set the 3-part set + 4-part set + 5-part set toward the astro-planar effect.

Platnium Horn of Plenty: Get extra two treasure pull with successful stamp plus it's +2 to all saves.

Gold Horn of Plenty: Get to sacrifice between getting extra two treasure pull with successful stamp or +3 AC with +2 saves.

Jeff will have to charge $325-350.00 for the Eldritch's Horn of Plenty with some more $10.00 pack of tokens w/ R/U/C and sale three of them to one buyer, then buyer will receive the Rod of Seven Parts (Segment 7). Also it's a great way to show appreciate to the new player by reintroduce the Horn of Plenty with different from it original. Where the original is effect for three extra treasure pull with successful stamp and an classic at that.

P.S. This came out about 10 month on the title: Suggestion for 2014 Ultra-rare, where I original pitch this idea and you can see the result of that.

Maybe if they were transmutes.

Horn of Just Enough - 2 Treasure pulls per stamp
Ingredients - 2 of any of the following: charm of good fortune, ring of riches, horn of plenty + crafting materials.

Mithral Horn of Just Enough - 2 Treasure pulls per stamp, counts as a piece of the Mithral set
Ingredients - Horn of Just Enough + any 2 Mithral item token

Mighty Horn of Just Enough - 2 Treasure pulls per stamp, counts as a piece of the Mighty set
Ingredients - Horn of Just Enough + any 2 Mighty item token

Horn of Way Too Much (aka Horn of messing over your party) - 10 treasure per stamp, can not equip other items ;)

Ingredients - 10 Horn of Just Enough +1 of each crafting material

everything has a choice of journey and so of it journey to your choice has to be may. Point being every journey need to be right with the right token to complete it journey, otherwise it a fail because each journey is different from one to another to begin with. Not the same journey twice ever and always something new will surprise you.

This has been brought up before and there was a TON of pushback. I don't think we will see anything that resembles a transmuted item that works liek the Horn.

One thought is a transmutable token that is better than a Horn of Plenty. There would be two recipes, one would be simply a Horn of Plenty and little else, and the other would be a very high cost recipe, maybe any three/four of Ring of Riches/Charm of Good Fortune/whatever the next similar UR token is (if any), plus significant trade token items and GP, adding up to at least the current value of a HoP.

That would give the HoP users essentially a free upgrade to relic level, and would give all non-HOP users a path to get to the relic HoP as well.

I definitely like this thought myself.

BUt there were no extra treaure draw tokens from 2007-2011(HoP in 2007, and RoR in 2011)
So people can get by without extra treasure tokens

I am against reprints and whiners

Sarcastic note
Why stop with the HoP..why not Seg1 and 2..then with Artifacts

It hurts no one to add more token draw into the game. The only reason not to make a new token similar to the HoP is to support elitism in the game or to keep it's price high for the owners of the token.
