Not sure if that would happen or not. Each board is a little different in its sliding characteristics. Practicing on one with the same coefficient of friction over and over again might actually be harmful.

You would need three:

Fast

Slow

D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

Well, there's no reason you couldn't practice with multiple surfaces. I'd have to think if you slide it a few hundred, or thousand, times, you'll have a distinct advantage.

Not for me. My trade items are going to flood the market shortly. Much, much better to sell them than sink thousands into making a single token. Bleh.

can the '+1 long bow' and '+1 short bow' be any version of such. ie. can I use a '+1 dwarven short bow' as the +1 short bow requirement?

Yes, back to topic... I would think any +1 Long Bow or +1 Short Bow would work for the recipe. I can't see that there is enough difference between them to not allow that to be the case.
You can't fix stupid but you can TPK it.

There is already 2 artifacts that have sliders, so there is a precedent.

Yeah.... Those Relics look overpriced, just at first glance. And the Legendary items... Wow. I will have to slap these into a spreadsheet when I get a chance to see if they really are overpriced or not, but at first glance they do look to be a lot more expensive than those of previous years.

I am really debating making relics/ legendaries or just selling the components.

well, ive just put together the stacks of tokens to make the transmutes I want; keen slayer bow, +3 viper fang, ring of greater focus...then I stack up the 'reduced cost' rod of niltongue. and it is still too expensive. all the item will do is give my druid build +1 to hit over current build until a druid relic weapon comes out. i think i would rather put these materials towards saving for the legendary bow. looks like my druid is stuck with a +2 weapon until a druid relic weapon comes out.

Don't forget about saving back items for each of the Rod of Seven Parts.

Looking over the costs of making some of these relics is making me shudder...I'm only planning to get a $250 pack of tokens and trading in some others I have, and then buying/trading for the rest, which will go into a +3 Viper Strike Fang.

I'm not THAT big of a buyer, but hopefully I can at least get that relic this year...

If we can complete the whole rod this year
