TOPIC: Gencon 2013 - How were your Pulls?

Re: Gencon 2013 - How were your Pulls? 10 years 7 months ago #61

I know that by late Friday, Michelle of Gaming Etc. had 42 Rings of Hereoism offerred to her to purchase. 42 ?? Wow.

I would like to see more UR's and no relics in the treasure boxes. My group pulled 4 monster bits out of about 75 pulls and then switched to the other box. I hope the secondary market for relics doesn't see too much of a price drop due to the recent influx of tokens. It seemed hard to get monster bits and too easy to pull a relic.

I wonder how much she was paying for the rings and how much she will be asking for them now vs in 2015 when they can be crafted for real.

If gamingetc was getting offered all these relics and UR's for sale then the whole idea that new players pulling UR's and relics will get them hooked is moot. They will come next year and wonder where all the goodies went. It also shows that most would just rather make a quick buck and move on. The influx of relics also makes all the people who saved up to get them feel cheated. I know I will continue to play, but my days of spending 2K on tokens are over.

I felt a little the way Rafiq just mentioned after seeing so many hit ebay and gamingetc and other players in general. I have no idea what percentage of "lucky draws" will be returning with their tokens as an inspiration to play more TD, but there is no question that a lot of them saw it as a quick money way to make a 200-300 dollar profit for a $44 ticket.

There's folks both cashing out and also hunkering down to enjoy more TD, I just have no idea what the numbers for each group look like.

I wonder if there will be a run on tickets next year from people that expect to make a couple hundred dollars on each $44 ticket.

Were there any people that were just cashing in their tickets and getting their tokens without doing their runs? If so, I'd be in favor of a policy of not allowing people to get their participation tokens and treasure coins unless they actually run the adventure.

This I was think ahead long before this happen when stuff turn up unexpectly as it did and don't ask, just lucky is all.

Let see if you can do the math on this:

8x Runs + 4x more as Phantom character = 12x tix = $528.00

Burn 3x Wish Ring = around $900.00

6x Nightmare + 6x normal = 12x

Treasure pull total is: 252x, but claim only have 215x and working with Jeff on that.

The list of pull are as follow:

1x +2 Holy Great Sword
1x Charm of Heroism
1x Girdle of Frost Giant Strength
1x Ring of Improved Evasion
1x Ioun Stone Lavender Ellipsoid
2x Gem of Healing
3x Ring of Focus
1x Skull of Doom
1x Ring of Iuz
1x Shirt of Shielding
1x +3 Ammo of Alteration
20x Monster Ingredient Tokens

47x Rare assort

134x Uncommon asort

The percent of pull from the gear box was: 70-75%

The percent of pull from the ingredent box was: 25-30%

This is not included the Golden Tix, which is addition to this list.

Bag of Goodies
1x Charm of Heroism
1x Ring of Heroism
1x Greater Cloak of Destiny
2x One of each Dungeon Nightmare Completion Tokens Rare
2x One of each Dungeon Normal Completion Tokens Uncommon
1x True Grind Completion Token

& separate black baggie for:
4x One Complete Set of each Monster Ingredient Tokens

17x Treasure Pull is the max for the level of game play and this was done 3-4x included the Golden Tix Run should be included in the total tally because of the Dragon Hoarder Effect & with Phantom Character with the equip is Double Dragon Hoarder Effect & with Phastom Character with the same equip also burning two Wish Ring in the same times is a Dragon's Dream Hoarder Effect for the maximum pull ever I'm not possession of Artifact to do it and this was done successfully once.

Plus as an volunteer of full-time & part-time shift I got the UR & Rare volunteer tokens this year and I personally Thank Lori for that and also I'm not sell them because hard work to pull off.

The funny thing is that I didn't play the rogue this year, huh?

Couple questions for you Eversuede...

What is the "Dragon hoarder" effect you are talking about?I haven't heard the term before in relation to tokens.

When you say "4x complete set of each monster ingredient token" do you actually mean 4 complete sets, or do you mean 4 tokens ( one complete set)? I am assuming only 1 set of 4 tokens, since that's what came in the sealed black baggie for the GT run. Ditto for 2x Nightmare completion tokens... You mean 1 of each token, not 2 pairs of tokens, right?

Thanks in advance for clarification.

Sorry about that I will to clarify the best that I can.

I re-edit my post to explain when it said that 4x one complete set for the monster ingredient token instead of saying 4x complete set.

I think Jeff came up with that idea in one of the forgot post that my friend pick up on. So I actual did the runs on using combine of tokens to get the effect in three stage by using the Horn of Plenty, Ring of Riches and to maximum effect of the Charm of Good Fortune which having all 10x the same for the Charm of Good Fortune will give you 4x treasure pull. Plus since I pass 6th level player I get the benefit of 1x more treasure pull and that just one stage. Stage two is using the phantom character that no one want and load it with Stage one again to get double the treasure pull which is 34x treasure pull for stage two and that stage one is only 17x treasure pull with every tokens in place. But stage three is the hardest sacrifice by burning up your two wish ring by using one of three wishes you could make in True Dungeon and I forgot the other two. But one of the wish is must be activite in the dungeon run and that is you get 20x treasure pull for each character card that you have and also that meant 40x treasure pull between two of my character cards only. With the two Wish Ring burn the wish to get 40x plus with stage two added for 34x treasure pull, which made it's 74x treasure pull on one successful run.

So I took Jeff's idea of the Dragon's Hoarder effect and I re-classified in three stage.

Stage One
17x treasure pull is the Dragon's Hoarder effect if done correctly with tokens in place.

Stage Two
34x treasure pull is the Double Dragon's Hoarder effect if done correctly with even more tokens in place for you & your addition phantom character card.

Stage Three
74x treasure pull is the Dragon's Dream Hoarder effect if done correctly with even more tokens in place for having two character card and one of them is phantom player and also require to burn up wishes from the two Wish Ring.

Sorry, but my brain is little smoothie now and not enough sleep.

Thanks for the clarification, Eversuede. I think my confusion on the "4x" comes from the fact that the "x" usually means "times", like multiplied by. 4xset of tokens means(to me) one set of tokens TIMES FOUR, or four sets total.... where you are using it to keep count of how many individual tokens (4) are in one set. Got your meaning now, tho.

As for the "dragon hoarder", I understand why you would use it for that kind of treasure token maximizing. And I gotta be honest, if you used Wish Rings to increase your treasure pulls, you certainly picked the right year to do it!

My luck held to its usual...

200+ pulls.
Noteworthy treasures: Ring of Heroism. x1.

Total noteworthies for 4 years of playing: 2.

Which has taught me that, while it's nice, ubergear is seriously overrated. :side:

In 11 years of playing, multiple runs every year, using HoP and RoR since they were available, and running with a group which tends to max its treasure stamps every year, I only got my first UR pull from the treasure chest last year.

This year, I pulled another UR.

I'm happy though: Over the years I have pulled many ingredients and enough treasure to share, and I have many dungeon completion tokens. My fun in TD is not dependent on the treasure. (That said, I will probably still run with my HoP and RoR most of the time!)
