Yip, yip, yip.<br /><br />Tokens arrived and I did roll 00 and received a purp.  I was looking for a +2 long sword, or girdle, or cloak of displacement, BUT a healing potion is good--you never know when at a given moment, it will be more valuable than anything else.  It looks like I got a fairly good distribution.  After I sort everything out, I will post my needs and what I have for trade.  Henwy, do you need any short swords?  After your comment about how many short swords does a person need--I envisioned the scene in Lord of the Rings where Saruman was having all those swords made for his army before the battle of Helms Deep, and contrasted it to the scene when Elrond had Andruil reforged for Aragorn (common versus Purp--or the highest color ever possible--one of a kind).  So if you know anyone who is forming an orc army to storm GenCon.  Let me know and I can help supply it.<br /><br />Widseth

Congrats on your purple, Widseth!  My tokens arrived today.  I think the postman thought it was funny that I showed up at the door ready with a pen.  I just finished sorting through all of them and I have to say that I'm pretty pleased.  May everyone else have good luck.<br /><br />Kim

I didn't get a single darn purple anything!  =(  Oh well, such is life.

If you ordered 50 bags your chances were 50/50...so don't dispair.<br /><br />I hope your luck is much better in the dungeon!

Sorry you guys are disappointed about not getting any purples.  It was supposed to be this cool thing for people, but is sounds more like it is turning into a bummer for most people.  If you bought a Golden Ticket, you received 300 tokens -- which only gave you a 30% chance to get a Purple.<br /><br />I hope everyone is not too disappointed.  There will be a chance to get some at Gen Con -- especially if you play Hardcore.<br /><br />Thanks again for all your support.

Jeff,<br /><br />  Not everyone thinks its a bummer they didn't get a purple. I didn't. I think that with all the incentives for a gold ticket, not getting a purple is irrelevant. I'm glad you added them to the 00 mix, as this gave me a 1 in 4 chance of getting one. For people like Smak, who ordered a million tokens, it's an additional incentive, which seems only fair. Maybe, with people getting bumbed, you can make it a specific incentive next time.

<br /><br />Sure, that sounds like a good idea anyway.  We need the practice of hardcore groups.  Just don't be bummed if you all get slaughtered in the next to last room!  I think we are going to make the rule that a TPK will mean the whole party gets the boot in the room that the last character died.  It would be silly to have a group of dead characters floating through the dungeon.  More about this later.  I have yet to talk extensively with the Directors yet.  They are a lot smarter than me!  A ruling will come at the end of April.

<br /><br />The only question I would have is how this sort of thing would affect the Tournament. If the winner is based on how far into the dungeon a team manages to get, then playing at Hardcore level could really skew that party's chances for the worse. Or, if it's done by "XP Value" of the rooms, then you'll end up with a lot of people wanting to play the VIP run on Hardcore setting, since you only need to survive past the 4th room to beat out the normal mode's XP value.<br /><br />Just something to consider.

That is unless we really are being judged on some other factors...like maybe it is the team that seems to have the most FUN???
