I'd love to hear anyone else chime in, but I'm pretty sure that is how it was for our run.

Anecdotal reports from GT runners that year show some inconsistency.

Some GT groups had stricter rules so you really did need a 20.

Other GT groups had laxer rules so that anything in the vicinity of a 20 counted. As a result, in these groups, just about everyone ended up with a Mithral Coin of Fate.

The Friday run we were on 3 people did slide natural 20's and a 4th was on the edge and Jeff gave them a roll 1-10 no coin 11-20 a coin. Too bad it was a low roll and we didn't think of using the coin of luck to re-roll with +10!!!!

FYI

Per Jeff, Fermented Frostberry is now officially an ingredient option for Potion Distilled Healing .
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?

D'oh! :pinch:

I was trading off all my Fermented Frostberries to newbies at GenCon, at 2:1 for 1pt healing potions. I figured the newbies would prefer twice the healing (especially if they had less than 11 of the 1-pt healing potions anyways), and I could make a few more Potions of Distilled Healing in the end. If only I'd known.....

Ah, well. These things happen.

I actually do like this change.

However, any special reason for this? (My best guess is that it frees up this year's 1 point heal to be a non-potion, like the fungus people have been suggesting).

(These are two "discussion" type questions not specifically addressed to Druegar):

Any idea if Dwarven and Orc Rations will also be permitted for Distilled transmutation in the future?

And how about Goodberries? If Fermented Berries are allowed, should Goodberries be permitted (counting as 2 points)?

technically one of the "natural 20's" was when my nightshade's got knocked out of it's slider (which was sitting on a much lower number) and had it fall into the '20' ... can't remember who helped me out on that one now 2 years later, but thanks again!

also, since we were on the PLAT GT run from the second (third?) printing of tokens that eyar, we were sliding at a hideous ogre (troll?) from mt. wheaton instead of a dalek

Technically the Mithral Coin of Luck only works on failed saves so it would be up to Jeff whether or not to allow it for such an atypical die roll. :)

+1 Elven Rapier does not appear to have years listed for it. I'm pretty sure it was 2010.

Noticed this while searching non-magical melee weapons. Dagger of Throwing is grouped under non-magical melee weapon while its description reads "This magical double-bladed weapon returns to the attacker after being thrown" emphasis mine. Seems to be contradictory.

Edit:

Also Potion Polymorph (Viper) reads "Transforms the character into a cave bear."
