TOPIC: Token Release Party < Saturday, Jan. 21st !

I know this is a last minute thing, and that the unpredictable winter weather could really foul this up, but thanks to Smakdown’s idea we are going to have a small Token Release Party in Carbondale, IL on Saturday, January 21st from 10:00am until 10:00pm.

The party will take place at our warehouse/workshop on the outskirts of Carbondale, and admission is free. We will create a fantasy-themed hang-out spot complete with tables and chairs and ample lighting. Open gaming and token trading is encouraged. Collectors can trade-in for Trade tokens and Transmuted tokens from 1:00pm to 5:00pm, and token pre-orders can be picked up any time that day. Pre-orders can also be picked up on Friday, January 20th at Quick Signs (next door to the warehouse) from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.

The event is going to be a small gathering with no events provided by True Adventures. It is just a chance for TD collectors to hang out, trade tokens and do some open gaming. Space is limited, so the event is open to full-time TD volunteers and token collectors who have placed a token pre-order.

IMPORTANT: You MUST let us know that you wish to attend in order to pick up your pre-order on Friday or Saturday. To do so, please send an email with the subject “Token Party” to jeff{at}truedungeon.com, and let me know what time you are wishing to pick up your token pre-order.
The warehouse/workshop is located a block south of Illinois Route 13, so it is easy to find. There are three hotels within a few blocks, as well as a Hoolihan’s and a Golden Corral. No alcohol will be allowed into the event, but you can bring any snacks or non-alcoholic beverages you wish.

All token pre-orders will be shipped out Monday, January 23rd – if they have not been picked up the previous week. Be sure to bring proper ID to claim your token pre-order.

i'll be calling the Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn to see which will give the best rates for a group discount. while i'm not sure how many folks would stay at the same place i'm hoping we can all get into the same one. i'll post the outcome of my quest here later. i'll use the term "Tokenholics Anonymous" as our group name.

Drat! I'll be running a 5k in San Diego that weekend But it sounds like a really fun time and I hope lots of people show up!

i called the holiday inn they are quoting $119 a night for a twin.

the hampton inn is quoting $99 bucks a night for a twin.

they both have lots of extras. if my memory serves...breakfast, wifi, pool, jacuzzi.

i'm going to book my reservation at the hampton for the 20th and 21. would anyone care to join me?

i just booked my room at the Hampton Inn. it was $99 a night for 2 queen beds. they have a host of extras. you can call 1-618-549-6900. you might have to tell them that you are with a token release party or a tokenholics to get the discount price. or if you have a way of getting cheaper rates, go for it.

my plan is to leave out from my hometown (Louisville,KY) friday morning/noon. if weather is good, it is roughly a 4 hour drive. i'll be sharing it with another tokenholic.

Well I'm out. Between airfair, car, hotel & food almost another 1k order.

Maybe next year w/ better lead time.

Unfortunately, I can't make it that weekend, either. I'd love to attend in the future--personally, I agree with those that would prefer doing it a bit later in the year.
