Can the casting of spells (from scrolls or party cards) or the activation of items(wands and rings) be done quietly enough not to awaken smoak? Thus if no other attacks are performed, be done without awakening smoak?

Good question!

It depends on how sound asleep he is...

Alrighty, is the room with smoak big enough that if the cleric cast silence on himself and stands near smoak's slumbering head (thus getting the 10 foot radius over his hearing) that the wizard and bard could cast MM outside of the silence bubble, without risk?

To make the spell work in TD, our "Silence" spell just makes the whole room silent. It can't be aimed or what not.

Good idea, though!

For easy of play that makes a lot of sense, but it does pose an amusing picture of this very deadly 10foot dragon.
Too bad we can't make him a pet.
Can we use our Dragonbane surcoats (or any other cloak or fabric item for that matter) to muffled the sounds of our voices, but still get the spells off?

Would the use of any scrolls during the 2 round prep-time also alert Smoak or are those considered cast outside of his hearing range? (This would change what prep items I would be using just to keep him asleep a bit longer).

I would suggest the bard sing a lullaby to help Smoak stay asleep, but I am certain that Smoak would not appreciate the singing (or cowbell).

Does your Bard sing Don't Fear the Reaper as a lullaby?
I do not believe so, plus since he doesn't speak perfect draconic, I would suspect Smoak would find our language harsh on its ears.

Indeed. Where's a Bard follower of Bahamut or Tiamat when you need one? ;)

Is the Dragon total immune to fire? Couldn't we just cover him with oil that way he doesn't try to breath in case he burns himself?

Or better yet have someone with loads of gems and gold stand in the front so he wont breath in case he destroys his new trinkets.

Rafiq

All I know is I have now had a bad dream about TD, we were attacking smoak and after like 5 rounds even after the breath we were like, so how does the dragon look? And the Dm was like he looks pretty fine since you have been unable to really hit him at all. It was a displeasing dream.
Okay -- I have a quick question -- this information about the ioun stone applies to the players who own and wear an ioun stone black pearl, correct? I mean, if you have this item on a party tmember then all the magical bonuses to hit (that have been previously discussed) against that player are cancelled too, correct? In essence, ioun stone black pearl works against Smoak or others in the same manner as discussed here.

Thanks much. Peace.
