TOPIC: TOKEN WALLETS- by Molda

<br />No, I have no booth. I am a full time TD Volunteer. True Dungeon is the only reason I come to gencon. And I believe that gencon exists to host True Dungeon, and rightfully so. <br />I will PM you with my cell number. I will arrive on Tuesday and be there until Sunday. <br />I will make a reasonable effort to be available to meet with everyone for delivery. But I will not miss or be late for my assigned TD shifts and assignments. I really don't expect any problems, but I felt the caveat might be needed.<br />Anyone else who has gencon pickup that I have failed to give my number to should drop me a line.

<br />Now that we have had a full TD season, with numerous Token Wallets in action, I would like to get an idea of how well they worked and their durability.<br />Please post here any issues you had with them and your overall opinions of them. It is one thing to hold an item and think it will do well and another thing entirely to actually try it out. <br />How well did they work?<br />Suggestions for improvements are welcome as well as ideas for new styles. <br />Let's hear what you think.<br />

Well one thing from a coaching standpoint...<br /><br />They only usually show 3 at a time...and when tired, and a player if flipping through the book quickly - well it is impossible to catch the AC+ number etc.<br /><br />I'd like to see people use the wallets for stuff they need to USE in a dungeon, and maybe put stuff they are wearing either on the table or in a flat binder page.  But that is just me - and trying to make life easier on Coaches.<br /><br />ALL of that said - I think the wallets are totally cool!

Sort the melee weapon, STR bonuses, and other melee hit/damage bonuses together<br />2. Sort the missile weapon, DEX bonuses, and other missile hit/damage bonuses together<br />3. Sort the AC tokens together<br />4. Sort the saving throw bonuses together<br />5. But everything else in the back

Raven had a great sheet for how to position the tokens for the coaches.  Maybe something like that could be made into laminated sheets for the tables for next year.<br /><br />On topic, thank you very much for the wallet Molda, it came out wonderful.

<br /><br />This is exactly what I did with mine.  Group by AC, STR mods, DEX mods, and saves.<br /><br />All others in there were the, if I need to show the DM I have something like the boots of free action to thwart the chain devil.<br /><br />Also, you can put tokens in "upside down" so you have six showing at a time every other page.

@ Eric - well that assumes the players do something - perhaps out of what they would normally do, and we coaches know, many do and many don't.  So we can't count on that happening.<br /><br />@ XAVON - That sheet was NEAT!  I think something like that is exactly what we need to make the coaching job much much much easier.  It would be Awesome, if these sheets could be attached to the table clothes in some way to keep them from walking off.<br /><br />@ Eric again - even with 6 showing at a time, the flip flip flipping, made it harder to stay on track - please remember, some coaches (OK maybe just me) do get a little tired and eyesight does suffer after a day of con and no sleep.

I love both of mine. Found them very durable and nice to carry in a pocket.

They worked great and can resist Indy and ATLs security guards' abuse.  =D

The token holders do look awesome!  I might have to pick one out myself!<br /><br />As far as a sheet for laying out tokens to help coaches, how about something laminated, with dry-erase markers available.  Player puts tokens in indicated spots, adds up bonuses with dry-erase marker, coach checks and writes result on party card, player wipes off sheet.<br /><br />I agree they would have to be attached to the table in some way.
