<br />He'a an APHA registered paint, with a lot of foundation Quarter Horse in is bloodlines. <br /><br />Thanks for all the hugs and good wishes. I went to visit him today. He didn't recover quite as quickly from surgery as the vets would have liked, but is doing better now. He's still on IV only, hasn't had any food or water for 5 days. They were hoping to try him on some water tonight at see how he tolerates it. He's lost a lot of weight, and will be on restricted activity for a few months to make sure his incision heals completely and doesn't develop a hernia. The incision is over a foot long, with 23 staples in it.

Yah... I reread the original post and felt like a big dummy for asking an answered question.<br /><br />It's good to hear that he's making progress.  I know it can be slow and agonizing waiting for them to heal, and worrying about how well it's healing.  But never fear..Paint's are sturdy, I have no doubt he'll pull through just fine.<br /><br />keeping you in my thoughts,

My parents have dealt with cocker spaniels and newborn bunnies and himilayan cats that have serious conditions.  They really do feel like family members.  Best wishes for Strider and yourself for sanity and prosperity in the times that come.<br /><br />And of course "hugs" (squared)
