You're allergic to dairy too aye?
I've been for about 20 years, so there have been all sorts of tasty concoctions that have come into existance in that time that I've never had.
I am referring to snowstorms. One year a blizzard closed school for three days and created drifts that were over my head!

Brian
I'm not fond of Blizzards (the ice-cream treat) because I dislike cold foods.

Blizzards of the snow-dumping variety are kind of fun. I remember, like Brian, seeing snowdrifts over my head. Whole houses almost lost in the piles of snow. Schools closed until the snowplows can clear a route for the buses to go through. (Although, in Canada, the snowplows are on call pretty much from Oct thru March, so blizzards rarely shut things down for more than a day.)

Usually the same happened in MA - we were ready for winter, so it was a very unusual storm that would close school for more than one day. It is always amusing seeing the very rare snowfall in a place like Virginia or DC - a half inch shuts down the state!
Its funny how something that takes multiple days to set up comes down in a few hours...

Ahh I have heard of this fabled snow. Are you sure it is truly not the stuff of myth and legend?

Oh when you live with it, you know it's not a myth or legend. I've seen 4+ feet on the side of my house, from where I as shoveling off the roof. It made for a fun way to get down though.

That's my car, half-buried under snow...after the snow had already started melting. =) There was at least another foot on there originally.
I remember the Northridge quakes like they were yesterday. Practically knocked me out of bed!

Funny thing is, there are probably people reading this thinking to themselves "Thank God I don't live in Southern California" when in reality, its not all that bad. ;)

The one before northridge (was it Whittier) scared the living XXXX out of me. That one lasted long enough, that I went from "What was that, did a truck hit the building" to "Oh <Bleep> I need to get under a door frame" to "Man this is going on quite a long while, I hope it isn't a serious one" to "how do I get out of town after all the bridges collapse".

Thank God, I no longer live in SoCal.
