I think the books stopped being completely written for children about three books ago. I also think that there are plenty of intelligent adults out there who are taking at least 7 hours or more to read the book. That does average out to over 100 pages an hour which I think is a decent rate of reading.

Kim

The most recent books may have been written for an age group older than the tweens/early teens that the earlier books were written for, but they target audience is still that of teenagers. Compared to most fantasy/sci-fi literature out there, it is definitely targetted towards an under-18 minor audience. There is nothing wrong with that and it does not detract from the quality of the books nor is it a negative reflection on anyone older than the target audience who reads the books. It is merely a statement of fact. Yes, my mentioning of a couple of hours was fecitious, but my claim that the books were written for children still stands. In fact, J.K. Rawlings and her publisher have repeatedly said that her target audience, for whom she is primarily writing the books, is for children, be they preteens, tweens, or teens.
