TOPIC: Not happy with Northwest Airlines

I just got an email from Northwest Airlines that says might return flight from GenCon has been changed on Sunday the 19th from 2PM to 9:30AM.  And this isn't the first time they have done this.  <br /><br />So I logged into the NWA.com site and after some digging, apparently if a schedule change impacts your vacation plans, you can change the flight at no charge.  So I tried to do this and got the following message:<br /><br />"Customer Advisory : Your reservation has not been impacted by a schedule change that allows you to select alternate flights at no cost. If you would like to make a change to your reservation, select the "Change Reservation" link above. Fees may apply."<br /><br />Grrr.... so I am on hold with them now to get this sorted out.  Maybe its me, but if the 4.5 hour shift in my flight, doesn't work with my schedule, I shouldn't have to pay to find a flight that does.

Uh oh. Um Bro, is that our flight too?!?!?<br />*slightly paniced*

Ok, I got onto a later flight at 2:50PM and talked them out of charging me for the change.  ;/

that's pretty lame that they didn't consider a 4.5 hour shift to be a change originally.

Joyus - If the info Gary sent you has the reservation ID, call them, since that's what Douglas ended up having to do. Be sure to let them know you have a friend who was on the same flight, that he changed to the 2:50 PM flight, and you want to do the same. AT NO CHARGE!!

I had 2.5 hours worth of dental work done yesterday, my mouth is rather sore today I'd rather not have to be stuck on the phone for a long time to be perfectly honest.<br />But if that is what needs done, so be it.<br /><br />Hey Doug, could you PM the flight number you got on?<br />Thanks.<br /><br />Also thank you very much for posting this Doug, otherwise Gary and I might not have known.

We got bumped to the same 9:30am departure...it is a non-stop direct flight...<br /><br />If there is not another that gets us in around 2pm - then I say we keep it.<br /><br />G

NW's site currently is experiencing minor techincal difficulty and won't let me search flights. So I can't search to see what time their other flights are.

As far as what I saw - none were direct...and they had big hour+ delays at those stops.<br /><br />Douglas - what flight did you take?<br /><br />I really need to get home before or around 2pm...I'll have an hour plus ride home, and need to rest up before getting back to work.

I realy hope you guys can get the situation worked out that would be terrible otherwise.
