TOPIC: My new deck - lots of pics

My new deck - lots of pics 16 years 11 months ago #1

The house we moved into had a small 3x6 landing off our kitchen that led to a bigger deck near the ground. I finally got fed up with it enough to build a bigger upper deck where we could keep the grill and such. Also, the existing deck was in need of repair, so I bit the bullet and built the family a deck to enjoy.

The builders were me, dad, wife's 2 brothers, and Brian and Dave (from TD).

Now I need to do something about the lower deck, which isn't a problem, it doesn't need a permit (thank goodness). I just need to determine what I want to do.

Enjoy the pics.

I'm always sorta impressed with people who can use tools. The entire process is sorta incomprehensible to me.

Nice job.

You should think about enclosing the bottom supports and make a playhouse for your little princess there =)

Very nice work! Not surprising, based on the crew involved.
So, if we need a deck in True Dungeon (and we can get the permits to build one in the Marriot - sure that won't be too hard) then we know who to call for the job, eh?

In all seriousness, very nice work Dragha. Nice pics, too - you (or someone) did a nice job of chronicling the progress.

Very nice! I'm impressed. A playhouse for little miss would be fun. (great idea, Doug).

I've thought about a playhouse for Teagan, just haven't made the commitment yet.

My wife did the picture taking.

Nicely done. Now we have to go help Dave hang his drywall. Anyone up for a drywall party?

BTW, I'm always impressed by people who can upload photos to this Forum.

Must be a huge cost savings to be able to do things like that yourself. Some friends were telling me recently what they spent to refurb their kitchen and it was an almost unbelievable sum.
