Well, after a year of letters, emails, testing, more forms, more emails, more tests... I finally got a phone call from a real live person at a company I applied to. I get to go spend a day there in June for the interview process. While I still don't know the exact particulars like what shift and wages and the like, I DO know that they have an outrageously good benefits package, a history of not laying people off, and are known to pay decent. They're also #55 on Fortune's Top 100 companies to work for in 2007. Plus, their based about 10 miles away. Here's hoping I might finally get out of the Great Evil that is Wal-Mart.

Two days.... I get to spend all day Thursday at Dow Corning's main facility. I've never been to an all day interview process, so I have no idea what to expect. I'm excited...and nervous...and the wonderful people at work right now who are bitter that they can't figure out a way to get out constantly telling me there's no way, give it up...just makes it all that more entertaining. I do so hope I get this job...about a grand more a month than I make now as starting pay, a real benefits package, not being semi ashamed of where I work. How cool would that be. Back to fidgeting...
