TOPIC: Chainmaille Wench - Shirt & Coif Pricing

Chainmaille Wench - Shirt & Coif Pricing 17 years 3 weeks ago #1

I thought I'd start a new thread for this, since the other one is so long. I've finally finished calculating some prices for chainmaille shirts and coifs. The "standard" prices are for bright aluminum, 14 ga 3/8" rings, and the length and size range is roughly the same as a L-XL men's t-shirt. I've linked to pics to give a rough idea of what I mean by each description, but keep in mind they are of items made by other people.

$450 - Sleeveless
$500 - Short Sleeve
$575 - Long Sleeve

Additional options:

$25 - trim in Brass, Bronze, or Anodized (colored) Aluminum
$30 - Triangular edging on bottom
$25 and up - Inlay on front or back
$50 - size XXL-XXXL
$50 - per 5" of added length to body
$100/$150/$200 - Sleeveless/Short Sleeve/Long Sleeve in Brass or Anodized
$150/$200/$250 - Sleeveless/Short Sleeve/Long Sleeve in Bronze or Stainless Steel
-$100 - Alternating rows of rubber and metal (like my dicebags).

Coif Pricing:
$150 - Open neck (like this )
$200 - Closed neck/small mantle (about 3-4", like this )
$250 - Closed neck/long mantle (6+ inches, like this )
$20 - Trim
$20 - Triangular edging on bottom
$25 and up - Inlay on back
$50 - Brass or Anodized
$100 - Bronze or Stainless

I'm attaching a few pics of a sample strip I made from bright, gold, and bronze aluminum. The first one shows it "scrunched up", which is about how it would hang when wearing a shirt. The patch is 2 1/4" high and 3 1/4" wide. I took it on woodgrain background, to approximate how flesh would look thru it. The second one shows it "stretched", which is how it would look if you lean over or have large muscles to flex. As you can see, more woodgrain shows thru, and it's 4 1/2" wide. This ability to stretch is what allows it to be put on without an opening in the front of the shirt. The third is taken on a white background to show the color contrast of gold/brass and bronze rings a little better.

I will take a maximum of THREE shirt orders for delivery at Indy, and the deadline to order is June 1st. This maximum will drop to 2 if none have been ordered by May 1st, and 1 if none is ordered by May 25. (Hope that makes sense.)

Please feel free to post questions. To place an order, please EMAIL me at chainmaillewench at gmail.com. Thanks!

I so need to move to a place with workspace, get the pliers out, and see if Heidi wants a ring monkey.
Yes you do. =D

Mom is going to try to learn to open rings for me, and is helping with sorting and some other stuff. But with her arthritis, closing them would be a little more difficult.
