Grossman's rain-induced fumbles were, I think, due to his inexperience.  Peyton didn't have the same trouble, and he took way more snaps.<br /><br />The Bears defense didn't play at their usual high level except for the 1st quarter.  They have to be almost perfect to make up for the weak offense.<br /><br />Man, I thought the Bears had a chance after that kickoff return!<br /><br />Brian<br />

BTW, IMHO, Peyton did not deserve to be MVP - he played okay, but not great.  I would have voted for Joseph Addai - he had a much bigger impact on the game.<br /><br />Brian<br />

<br /><br />I don't know.  You are right that (25/38, 247 yards, 1/1) isn't great but given the conditions on the field, its a decent performance.<br /><br />Addai had an average rushing game (19 carries, 77 yards, 0 TDs) and a decent recieving game (10 for 66 yards).<br /><br />If Vinatieri had made the FG he missed, I might have given it to him.  <br /><br />Rhodes played well too.  (113 yards on 21 carried, 1 TD). <br /><br />There aren't really any stand-out performances but given the conditions, I think I might give it to Manning.

The announcers said it was too bad Addai and Rhodes couldn't be co-mvp's.  One thing about Addai's receptions, one more and he would have tied the Superbowl record (held by PATRIOT Deion Branch).<br /><br />Brian<br />

I'm not surprised that they didn't go back to Addai just to get the record.  The Colts are a team that doesn't try to force things.  They take what's given to them and the more they spread the ball around the harder they are to defend.<br /><br />Kim

All I have left to say is it would have been a much better game with the CHARGERS playing in it!!!
