TOPIC: Hoody Hoo for the Patriots!

Re: Hoody Hoo for the Patriots! 17 years 3 months ago #25

I'll take your word for that. Am not familiar with fantasy football, or regular football anymore to be honest. I haven't played in like 15-17 years. Last time I played, I got a hyper extended knee trying to block my brother from reaching the goal line. Although it did amuse me that by the time I was a teenager I could honestly say I had arthritis from an old football injury. *little laugh* But then again I always have been easily amused. I mean if you can't laugh at yourself, who can you laugh at? =D

Peyton WON me my league even going in as the 4th place team (7/7). I faced the 1st and 2nd place teams and WON because of him.

I beat the 11/3 first place team with PM giving me 29 points against CIN in week 15.

I beat the 10/4 second place team with PM giving me 22 points against HOU in Week 16...

so I don't know what you mean he tapered off...he had a REALLY poor start to this year - then got hot and cold - then had a few GREAT games near the end.
I had Tom Brady, who was also hot and cold. My bigger problem was my wide receivers - they hardly scored at all. I finished well out of the playoffs.

Brian
I loved it - going in 4th in a 4 team winners bracket...then beating the first place team by 2 points and crushing the second place team by 30-40.

That's the second time in 4 years (I think) that I've won a league.

Bro,

Week 15 and 16 were the Playoffs in my League. I was out by then due to Mannings cold streak in weeks 10-14. =| R. Gould's two missed field goals in Week 14 didn't help either.

Missed the playoffs by 3 points. =(

Bro,

Ouch - missing by 3 hurts.

I was pretty lucky but still it was a dog of a league. At 7/7 I was the 4th place team...

Anyway PM had a very disappointing year in my opinion, but he came through for me when it counted...especially when his 29 point day won me the shot at the championship by 2 points.

Bro

Brian,

Thanks - FF is always FUN I think in 8 years I have an 68% win ratio...not sure what YAHOO is counting to get that...but it sounds pretty good.

G

Joyus,
Just to give you an example of how fantasy football is played, I'll tell you how we did it in my two leagues. Each week you put in a roster of 1 quarterback, 2 running backs, 2 wide receivers, 1 tight end, 1 kicker and 1 defense/special teams. The amount of yardage that the quarterback throws for is divided by 20 and those are the points that you get for his yardage. You also get 3 points for every touchdown he throws for. Any yards that he rushes for are divided by 10 and those are his points for that. This is all added together for his total score. Running backs, wide receivers and tight ends divide their yardage by 10 to get their score. They also get 6 points for a touchdown. Each position's score is added together for a total score for the roster that week. This is compared to the score for the team that you're up against and whoever has the most points is the winner.

Kim

Well, it sounds like we have a few people for our league thus far. Besides myself, I'm counting Douglas, Brian and perhaps Gary. Others can chime in, but I think we need to cap this at 12 people. 12 is really the max that you want for a league. It definately makes the draft interesting the last few rounds.

Kim

I'm definitely interested.

In my FFL, you only get points for TD's and FG's - saves time and effort not having to worry about yards and such. I'll certainly play whatever way people decide, though.

Brian
Maybe we can all join a YAHOO league...???

I'm kinda partial to 6 points for TD - 1 point for each 20 rushing yards and 1 point for each 50 passing yards and 1 point for each 20 receiving yards.

giving a QB 1 point for each 20 passing yards is too much pressure on having a great QB.
