TOPIC: Hoody Hoo for the Patriots!

Re: Hoody Hoo for the Patriots! 17 years 3 months ago #13

They could probably stand to draft a couple of offensive linemen. I guess we'll see. I'll be curious to see if they draft a running back. Don't get me wrong, I like Edge.

Kim

[move][glow=red,2,300]GO PATRIOTS![/glow][/move]

I figure the Cardinals could use more offensive protection, and definitely a young RB to learn from Edge. The Pats will just need to replace whoever we lose to free agency - hope Bruschi doesn't retire!

brian
Bruschi won't retire, at least not this year. He worked too hard to come back. You know, we may seriously have to have a TD fantasy football league next year. It would be something to occupy our time between cons and token releases!

Kim

I think we have enough people who would be interested and we could do our draft on the forums since it's a site that we're all familiar with. We could also go with a site like Fanball to help manage it after the draft. That's the site that our comissioner uses for both leagues that I'm in. It's pretty user friendly and has a nice live scoring feature. Also, it's not overly expensive.

Kim

I have another idea to make things interesting if we do a TD fantasy football league. Everybody pays their portion towards the fee for whichever site we use. I believe Fanball is 60 dollars for a league, so if we had 12 people it would only be 5 dollars a person. Instead of kicking in extra money where we're playing for that, we could each buy a bag of tokens at Gencon Indy. Nobody opens their bag so that we have the mystery of what tokens are actually in there. We designate one person to hold on to them for the duration of the season and then they mail them to the winner at the end. It could be kind of cool and it blends both hobbies, TD and football. Let me know what you think.

Kim

Another thing that could be cool is that we could each draw a class of character from D & D and then put a place name in front of it for our team names. Yet another way to combine both hobbies.

Kim

I'd be up for a TD Fantasy Football League for sure. Add me to the list. ;)

So what exactly is a TD Fantasy Football League?
I mean are you picking fantasy characters, such as half orc for your quarter back sack. And elf as your sprinter or some such?
Sorry I don't know what the different roles in Football are.

No, I don't think that is what they are refering to.

I think it is just Fantasy Football played by the forumites or people who play TD.

Fantasy Football is a game where you "draft" real players and those players earn you points based on their performances each week. For example, this year in a different league, I had Peyton Manning (QB) who started out great and then folded late in the season (and cost me the playoffs). =(

Does that make sense?
