TOPIC: American Cancer Society

Re: American Cancer Society 17 years 3 months ago #13

I'm still up for donating some pixie stitch goods such as the drawstring bags for being auctioned off at gencon for your charity. And they can be marked/put with charity stuff in the auction. So I'm still in that camp for doing fundraising at the Con. :)

Joyus,
I really appreciate that offer. That means a lot.

Gary,
The idea of a quarter toss intrigues me. I'm not sure how we'd do it though.

Everybody keep the ideas coming. This group is very good at that and I appreciate it.

Kim

Just thought I'd give everyone an update on Relay For Life. My team at Walgreens raised approximately 6,300 dollars and the Warren County Relay For Life raised 256,000 dollars. We still have some money that will come in for teams due to matching funds, etc. We will be the second largest Relay in the state of Kentucky. I'm pretty pleased at how things turned out.

Kim

Thanks to everyone for the congratulations. Yes, I had a good time. I'm the luminaria chairperson for Warren County, so it was just a little stressful until the luminaria ceremony was over at 10:20. There's a lot of work that goes into putting that together and there's so much of an emotional investment by the people who purchase luminaria. It made me work real hard to get things just right. People seemed to enjoy it. We had approximately 105 teams at the relay. That makes us the largest relay in the state. One thing that was kind of neat was that the mayor gave us a proclaimation early in the day declaring June to be Relay For Life month. The good part now is that I get to relax and rest some until we have to start planning for next year's event.

Kim
