TOPIC: Very off-topic...

Very off-topic... 13 years 11 months ago #1

I didn't really have any other place to put this, and I'm not even sure if I should be saying anything about it at all.

This is keeping me from going to SoCal, so I guess that's as good of a reason as any to post it.

I'm just now feeling well enough to "get up" and "do something" besides lay in bed and feel miserable physically, though I'm still feeling worse than miserable emotionally.

I just went through a miscarriage.

A bad one, though, are there really any good ones? It's left me physically exhausted, but the emotional pain of losing my child is worse than I thought anythign could be.

My significant other and I are both still in shock, but I don't know... I'm just rambling. Meh.

I just don't know.

Oh, my. Loosing a child is never easy, no matter how prepared you are for it. I have often stated is it is cruelest thing fate can deliver for a parent to have to say goodbye to (and thus out live) a child in any way, much less that.

My thoughts are with you. Please take time to mourn and accept the support of others.

But, and I do not mean this to be crass or uncaring in any way, please don’t let the memory of child that could have been, taint the joy of a child that will or could be.

Please take care,

Dave
I am very sorry to hear about your loss. A miscarriage can be an incredibly difficult thing to go through and its normal that you feel the way that you do.

If you are interested in talking with other women who have gone through miscarriages, might I suggest this Support Forum.

www.inciid.org/forums/miscarriage_support/

Sometimes talking with people who have gone through the same thing can help.

Our thoughts are with you.

Very well stated Dave. It is hard to know what to say when problems arise in our lives, but caring family and friends are great assets. The sun will rise tomorrow and we have to choose how to face it no matter what our problems are today. Time is a marvelous healer if we look forward with hope, but it can be a destroyer if we dwell on the negative. Mourning is not negative--it is learning to remember in peace, and that is good.

You have friends here and your friends are with you. You are in our prayers.

Widseth

I know there's nothing I can say to make the pain less, but I hope you find the strength to deal with it. The loss of a child, born or unborn, is a great shock. Take time to recover, physically and emotionally. Feel free to email or PM or post or whatever helps take the edge off.

Lots of hugs,

- Raven
{hug} {hug} {hug}
I know how you feel! I too lost a child. Though it has now been 5 years. I'm still not over it, but my life had to continue. I too did not get out of bed for days on end. My roommate (not SO), he forced me to get out of bed. He had to make me take a shower. I did not want to continue. It is so hard. =(
Let me tell you a story - It rained and rained and rained after that night. But then there was a rainbow, a rainbow every time I looked out the window, my SO (now husband) took pictures of the rainbow. he was feeling the loss as well. I know it was not the same rainbow, but I feel that is was God's way of saying "get your a** out of bed" So eventually I went back to work (had to ask for my job back).

Now.. My husband and I have 2 beautiful children, though they do not replace the one we lost. I still get tinges of sadness, but they aren't as bad as the first few weeks. So my dear, if you need an more hugs or any advice.. PLEASE PM me, just let me know. =)
