TOPIC: Legend of Vox Machina anyone?

Legend of Vox Machina anyone? 2 years 2 months ago #1

Given the D&D subject matter I wondered if this might be of interest to some here. I was not aware of the Kickstarter campaign that funded this series but it has been a fun watch the first two episodes.

I may end up binging the remaining 7 episodes over the weekend

I’ve enjoyed the series so far - I think they did a good job of translating it to an animated series.

Personally I think they could have done it more as a PG13 level to get a broader audience - but I’m an old fashioned fuddy-duddy in that regard. Dropping some of the overt nudity/sex (could have easily had such things implied without sacrificing story) and toning down the language would have been easy to do - but I know they wanted to keep it more of an “ adult “ level similar to Deadpool.

It's been ok, the animation is top drawer. I just cant quite accept the party. I dont even hate them they just feel to much like players and not enough like fantasy characters if you get my meaning.

Like all the casual swearing, mismatched character themes/accents, and funny innuendos would be fun if it were you and your buddies sitting around doing it but for me at least it's less fun to watch.

It's like watching someone play a game rather then playing it yourself. Some people love it some people dont. For my money at least I wish the funds had gone to animating something that would be more timeless but I know Wotc has basically gone all in in critical role so I guess this was inevitable.

It's a fun show over all, I'd recomend giving it a look but for me at least it's hard to get excited about. I'm probably just to old at 40, but you know what they say about rejecting modernity XD

I am enjoying it.

I am also a fan of the original game stream, and the authenticity to the story and characters is awesome.
