You can prevent frozen pipes by having water constantly running - just a trickle is enough.

Great advice! Fortunately for us (because yay, no busted pipes), it was a poorly insulated meter box, so even that didn't fully help (the whole house was locked up). But after they fixed that, we upped the locations with a trickle, even though we had an increase in temp. You're 100% right and a higher water bill is much better than a busted pipe. We've been trying to at least catch some of it so we can use it on the house plants/critters. Have played the busted pipe game before, I'm very scrutinizing on the pipe layouts on the two houses I've bought since then, so we at least knew it was somewhere where between the main and the inlet to the house (since our water heater room is quasi heated). We don't get weather like this often, thankfully.

That's going to be us if our new bout of snow stopped. The shovelers...not the kids. We have at least one neighbor to help out. haha

Coming up on my 2nd non-consecutive 24hrs without power. Time to consider the possibility that this keeps me from Vol-ing for VTD4A.

Yeah, I'm starting to send emails in search of some back-up DM's for people who have no power. Naglees have been without power for several days and don't appear to be getting it back soon, so he's out as our "usual" backup DM. So, Rebecca....if you're interested, let me know!

Power back on after 30.5 hrs. My provider's area is at 60% powered (just under 1M without) for the first time since this started. Here's hoping we keep power through Thursday, or at least til my laundry & dishes get done.
