Howdy. I'm hoping to engage in some discussions about the Disney+ MCU show WandaVision. I've been watching it with my wife, and we both really enjoy it, but she is not a geek, so I can't talk with her about theories or MCU connections or stuff like that.

I don't intend to organize this by episode or character or anything - just a free-flowing discussion, so please go ahead and share thoughts. reviews, theories, etc.!

I'll have more to say, but I wanted to say first that I laughed out loud during tonight's episode, "We Interrupt This program" when Agent Wu pulled his card out when he met Captain Rambeau - he was obviously inspired by Scott Lang!

It's in the heading, but...SPOILERS!

I'm thoroughly enjoying this series. While, I'm not entirely sure where they will end up, I thought episode 4 was a huge payoff for those who stuck with it. Seeing them go back and pick things up towards the end of Endgame was awesome. Sadly, my wife found the first two episodes too confusing and boring and is no longer watching, even though she did watch all of the movies.

For now it appears like this alternate reality was created by Wanda as a way of dealing with Vision's death. What I don't know yet is if they plan to connect the next door neighbor, Agnes, to the Marvel character Agatha Harkness, who is also a powerful witch. The connections seem pretty obvious at this point, or they are just trying to throw us off. Either way, I am enjoying this and think it is intended to act as a "bridge" to future movies or series.

Potential Spoilers...no really.
This seems partial inspired by The House of M where Wanda rewrote reality. Except she did it over the entire Marvel Earth not just a town and just also recreated her twin boys. As Dave mentions Agatha Harkness is a witch teacher of Wanda in the comics. The twins Wanda has through magic are not her sons but part of a demon (which is why she recreates them in house of m). Agatha has to erase her memory of them it is so painful to Wanda.

Anyway back to the show. I think Doty is the villain of the show. I don't know who she really is though. Is she the demon or someone else, or just being controlled by the demon? Also who is the person that Jimmy Woo is looking for? Seems like he might be important to since they are not dropping his name conveniently. Just my two cents. Someone possibly a demon is manipulating Wanda through the pain of the loss of Pietro and Vision. Ultimately that pain will be worse when she finds out and loses the twins. It will the be up to Doctor Strange to save everyone from Wanda's magic in their film, 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness'

SPOILERS:

I do think Agnes is Agatha Harkness. They do seem to imply that AIM is involved - through the beekeeper outfit and the hexagon shapes. Maybe it's a Red Herring. The Watch and Soap commercials indicate Hydra. I've read Mephisto as possibly being behind it (he was involved with the creation of her kids in the comic I think - I'm just reading that graphic novel now).

I do see Monica Rambeau doesn't have her powers yet, I wonder if she'll get them in this series. Since the Captain Marvel name is taken by Carol Danvers, I suspect she'll take the Photon name, since it is the call sign of her Mom.

It does look like Wanda's magic is all that's keeping Vision alive, and it would only work in the town.

I'm VERY interested in seeing where it all goes, I'm enjoying it immensely. :)

I’m watching every Friday, as well. I really enjoyed episode four and the payoff.

There’s some speculation that Wanda will be the big villain in the next phase of the MCU. I actually hope that’s not the case; I like the character and hope they take it in another direction. Regardless, I’m excited to see where things go.

As an aside—I know several people that quit after two episodes. This series is definitely directed more to the MCU fans.

Really liked last night's "interruption." I liked how Marvel showed the utter chaos that would result from the end of the "blip," the return of half the world's population.

It does seem to be the consensus that Agnes is Agatha Harkness, but is she there to watch Wanda? Control her? Help her? I like how in one of the commercials Agnes is dressed as a witch.

AFAIK it's meant to be just a one-season thing. We know Wanda will be in the next Dr. Strange movie.

I'm listening to a podcast, "Still Watching," that is analyzing the show. First the host talks with the Vanity Fair tv critic (it's a VF podcast), then she interviews someone from the show (write, director), then she talks with another geek and they really get into the theories, details, etc.

One common theory is that Mephisto is involved (as Mike said). There is no agreement on who Mephisto could be, or if he has appeared at all yet.

While we have been watching this both my sons have been huge fans from the comic side and the MCU side. What they have been working with in terms of theories is a few things.
1) A simple idea but a lot has hinted at it is the villain Modok. If you don't know who he is watch Captain America the first Avenger or Captain America Winter Soilder. In the first movie he is Red Skulls right hand man and the scientist .In the latter movie he is the computer that is in the bunker when it is bombed with black widow and Cap.The reasons for this idea are a few small details ,the hexagon shape of the town: something Modok uses a lot in the comics and the idea of the uniforms that the sword agent is wearing when entering the town looks very close to that of Modoks henchmen, so we could see something like what happened with shield were hydra has infiltrated the organization and Wanda is being experimented on again by hydra like when she first got her powers.
2) The next Idea is that Wanda is grieving and is creating the small world that the show is set in, either intentional or unintentional. This idea because she does not know the full extent of her power still and she does not know how to fully control that power when she is emotional or physical out of control. Because of this there are two theories under this one idea. The first is that Agnes is a which that is coming after Wanda and infiltrated the town in order to capture and control Wanda. This is supported because she seems to know what is going on in various scenes of all the sit-coms. An example is with Hurb in the front when he is cutting the wall. She also has no identification from living in the town when you look at the wall the FBI agent Woo is using to see who has been trapped in the sit com with Wanda.
The next sub plot under this one is that Mephisto is the main villain of this and it is leading up to the cosmic marvel part of comics this is a whole other conversation which I can explain in detail if any one ask after reading all this info. He is manipulating Wanda under the same idea that he is manipulating her grief.
3) The last theory which is because of real world events of disney buying fox and gaining access to the mutants. In the comics Wanda has a part where she wishes the mutants away and because she is so strong it works. This theory switches that idea and makes it were she wishes the mutants into existence because she can no longer be with vision so she wants her kids she had in the made up world with him to live so she still has part of him with her. By bringing her kids into reality though she brings more mutants into reality.

Side notes Woo is from ant man and Darcey the scientist who found the TV show is from Thor.

That is actually Arnim Zola in the Captain America movies, not MODOK. It would be awesome for MODOK to make an appearance, and if AIM is involved as hinted at, that could lead to MODOK since he was at one point the leader of AIM.

I wonder who the guy is that was in the Witness Protection program and disappeared. I'm guessing that might be someone we've seen before.

I do think Wanda is intentionally running the town to create a life for her and Vision (who I wonder if he'll be dead or alive at the end of the show), but I wonder if someone else is running the whole show. Maybe to get their hands on her kids that she's creating.
