Loved the book. I'll go see the movie, but I am worried about it. I keep seeing pics and trailers that make me think, "That didn't happen in the book." That was part of the reason I was disappointed in A Wrinkle in Time.

I think you're right to be worried :).

On the flip side, I'm all in on this movie in my Fantasy Movie League - so I hope we're both concerned about nothing :)

I think the racing car scene is the spaceship battle
I am okay with that

I think there are a
Few
More things done for time. I don’t want to post here in case people......wait 4 it....didn’t read the book

Ernie was involved from the beginning, so I don’t think he would allow them to wreck it

Not worried per say, but I'm preparing myself for the story to be completely different. From what I've seen so far, it looks NOTHING like the contents of the book...including the social lessons or messages. Why is everything out of Hollywood about a revolution these days?

I'm only about an hour into the book. I'm doing the unabridged Audible book (read by Wil Wheaton of all people!). I wanted to read it but my time is so limited anymore that I'm finding Audible books work great for me.

I was going crazy looking for the book to reread it. We have MANY books. Finally remembered I had downloaded it onto my phone/iPad.

Possibly. Frank Herbert was involved in the 1982 movie Dune. That didn't turn out so well.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

He played possible one of The lamest
Characters in TV history.
It’s not his fault
I’m sure he was happy to be on tv,
And he had nothing to do with the characters script.

Anyway I think the movie will be good.
When a Falcon's Strike breaks the body
of its prey, it is because of timing.

That does NOT sound like a good review.

The gates and key challenges all changed. I was really looking forward to seeing the book version. That didn’t happen

It was good but forget the book going in and you will like it more
