Got one sun stone off around 200 spins. And got nothing on my 7 day bonus thus far. But yes still playing

Scored an upgrade on 2 pokestops in a row today. First one was super exciting, second was super confusing.

Am now 0-2 on 7 day streaks....not so sure if the percentages are that high.....

I'm 1-1 on 7-day streaks and 0 for standard spins. Those drop rates are abysmal.

Apparently the drop rate is .14% (per item, so triple that per average spin)

This info was put together by folks recording the results of over 50,000 items dropped, so there's pretty decent data on it.

Unfortunately, they don't have thousands of 7th day spins to record... so for that, it's just anecdotal data. And that data suggests the rate for the 7th day spin may be significantly higher... more than can be accounted for by the increased number of items dropped. Unfortunately, data also suggests Niantic may have changed the drop rate on that already, since a lot of people got an item on that first 7th spin, but a week later way fewer people are getting items on their 7 th day spin

I have gotten one item so far. Got 1 out of two 7 day bonuses, and 0 from 400 or so spins.

What items are bonuses for the 7th day spin?

So i had a Sun Stone and didn't notice until I scrolled all the way down in my inventory. And if you haven't seen this, you're welcome in advance.

I am hearing reports of the 7th day spins no longer having the higher % chance to drop the evolve stones.
Week 1 i got it on 7th
Week 2 I didn't
Week 3 isn't there yet.

Most my friends are in the same boat.

Yep - that's what I mean (sadly). The decimal place is in the right spot.

I couldn't find the link to the article where I originally read that info, but I did find this while looking for that link (Pls note that where they say "23,000 spins", they actually mean 23,000 items dropped from spins, ie: pokeballs, berries, potions, etc.):

"RankedBoost collected the data from over 23,000 PokéStops and measured just how often they obtained a special item. Out of 23,000 spins, they came up with eight Sun Stones (0.03% chance), six King's Rocks (0.03% chance), four Dragon Scales (0.02% chance), six Upgrades (0.03%) and nine Metal Coats (0.04% chance). That adds up to a total probability of about 0.15% for acquiring one of these times; findings from Forbes presented a similar number."

So, if you get a guaranteed 3 items dropping per spin, your chance of getting an evolution item on an average spin is still only .45%.

If you factor in the fact that some spins give you 5 or 6 items, and that the 10th unique spin (in a row, in a certain time frame) counts as a double spin, your odds of finding one of the evo items is (very roughly) .5% per stop that you spin.

In other words, you can, very roughly, expect an evolution item once every 200 spins.

But as we know from finding UR tokens as "00" rolls, you can go double or quadruple that easily without getting lucky. While others seem to defy the odds and get all the good stuff.

I've managed to find 4 evolution items so far, 1 Sunstone, 2 metal coats, and 1 upgrade. Also managed to finally catch an Aerodactyl to complete my north American gen 1. Hopefully the article I saw discussing the possibility of region locked pokemon migrating is true.
