TOPIC: 'Skip to Forum'

'Skip to Forum' 7 years 6 months ago #1

When you log onto to TD there used to be a button that allowed you to bypass the loading of the main screen. I believe it was labelled "Skip to Forum". This button has not worked for about two months. Is this going to be fixed or is it simply there to torment me? lol

I just tried it, when clicking the skip button it reloads the same page with the skip button. A very weird loop.

as suggested above I've always had the recent forum page bookmarked.
*mental note* always listen to Jeff

Yeah I never go to the main page because I have the forums bookmarked.

Honestly with internet speeds these days I would just remove that loading screen and fade-in from the main page altogether. Then the Forum link in the regular menu would probably show up faster.
Classes Played: Barbarian (65 times), Monk (56), Ranger (33), Rogue (25), Cleric (21), Fighter (13), Druid (12), Paladin (11), Dwarf Fighter (10), Bard (7), Elf Wizard (2), Wizard (2)

I'm glad someone mentioned this. I've been meaning to for awhile but never got around to it

When accessing from a new computer or if you misplace the bookmarks for some reason, it would be nice to skip the slow-loading screens.

Some of us don't have fast Internet speeds I think it stands that less than 30% of the US has what's defined as high-speed broadband. Personally, all I can get is DSL and it maxes out at a little over 1.5Mb. So no, Internet speeds these days are not up to it. Please fix. (Even my cell phone on 4G takes a few seconds to load the main page.)

I noticed this as well (haven't bothered to bookmark the forums, maybe one day...).

Another thing I've noticed is that, at least with Chrome, if the window isn't full screen then a lot of the navigation buttons don't appear at all. You just get a blank bar at the top where they should be.

There's a grey tab on the top right you can click to get the buttons to show up, and most of the seem to be clickable, but News and Contact don't seem to be, and it messes up the page in general (and a couple of the navigation buttons end up behind the picture slide

Not sure if it's really an issue to spend a lot of time on, just something I noticed one day when mucking around with multiple browsers up on the same screen.
