Photo resizing help. . . 17 years 8 months ago #1

Hiya Gang,

I was wondering if there was anyone who could give a pixie a bit of help.
I'm up to my ears in last minute sewing trying to make sure my volunteers are garbed, and if anymore monkey wrenches get thrown at me I don't know when I'll be able to pack.

Anyways,
Is there anyone who can resize some pictures for me?
I took some pictures last week of a show I did some costumes for but have had no time to size them down. And there are a couple people I had told I'd send them the pictures. But I can't this large.
Would anyone be willing to help me?
Pretty please? :crybaby2:

I'll gladly help, DD.

If you send me the photos via email (you have my addy, right?) and tell me about how big they're supposed to be (either in pixels or inches, or file size if that's the restriction) I'll do what I can to help!

Man.. you weren't kidding when you said those are big files. My computer's still fetching batch 2, and I run on a high speed connection.

So, I didn't see the info in your email... did you have a preference on what size they should be resized into? reply here, or email is fine (though my email is a little bogged at present (grin))

EDIT: also, do you want any cropping to center the pics better, or just leave 'em as is?

sure comment and email! *torn between wher eto reply*

Welp here is where I am at at the moment.

So size wise around 450 - 600/650 whatever keeps em' in proportion.

There are a couple after dark shots so if you can lightening that would be spiffy, if not, I'll do it if I get a chance, otherwise people will just have to put up with them that way. *little laugh*

Cropping to center or focus in on people is fine.
And . . . um, if it makes you feel any better, I didn't send all of them. . . .

And again thank you so much hun, you have no idea how swamped I am. But here's a clue. Must do this this week: 1 custom Irish overdress, 1 custom irish chemise, 2 peasant blouses, 1 men's ren shirt, 1 kerchief skirt. And if I'm lucky I may get to hem my 2 pairs of pants but I consider that higly unlikely. And only one little ol' me. What a week.
*sets nose back to grindstone*

Well, I got the email first, and only read this after I sent them results back to you...

There are a couple after dark shots so if you can lightening that would be spiffy,

As it turns out, I did so before even reading this. Both normal and lightened versions are available.

Cropping to center or focus in on people is fine.

Excellent!

And . . . um, if it makes you feel any better, I didn't send all of them. . . .

Oy vey!
You must have a very large memory card on your camera.

And again thank you so much hun, you have no idea how swamped I am. But here's a clue.

Well, since you took the time out of your busy schedule to make a couple shirts for me, I only consider it fair that I help out where I can. Thanks for giving me the chance to lighten your burden some. (If only there was a way I could reach through the monitor and help you with some stitching, you know I would!)

Take care, sweetheart!

Oooh, yes! Can I buy a case lot? I'll even pay a good premium on 'em if you promise not to tell anyone that I'm planning to use them at the VIP run. I'm sure our team will take the prize if everyone else discovers a monkey wrench has been thrown int otheir plans! Mwahahaha.. - oops. Never mind. Our Paladin is giving me a very stern look. No cheating for me, alas.

Please ignore this post, it is just venting frustration.

AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Enough with the bloody monkey wrenches already!
*bangs head against desk*

*takes a deep breath*

*tries to seperate monkey wrenches from fabric and get back to work*
Blast it, some times it really doesn't pay to be so OC.

Yeah. OC can kind of take over, eh?

I am sorry I didn't see this post earlier. I haven't checked "off topic" in a long time.

As a computer tech/admin, I can certainly assist with a lot of PC issues if you need help, including the resizing of pictures.

It's best to reach me via PM though.

JKW

*hugs* Thanks hun.
One of the other volunteers was a love and scaled/cropped down the photos so that is done. Thanks again so much Raven!

But unless you can help me sew or can pack for me sweetie, I gotta keep trying to get everything done myself. And I keep getting hit with we don't have anything for this person. And I am to OC to shrug it off.
So I keep trying to figure something I can make them and in their size, and a color they won't hate so I can try to make sure everyone is taken care of and happy.
And I must say the cats are not a spot of help either. Not a hinderance, but no help either. I'm just stressing that monday morning I leave at 5:30 am, and I still haven't even seen a suitcase yet. So I have to try and get everything wrapped up today so I can at lesat pack tomorrow. And Ihate last minute rushing cause I always forget stuff. But I think I have a packing list saved on my computer from last year so hopefully that will help me from remember anything vital such as al my medications cause I was frantically trying to stuff garb into suitcases. *little laugh*

But hey I'ms ure I'll get it all done, us pixies can work wonders. ;)
Like peter said, all it takes is faith and trust, and just a little pixie dust. :)
