TOPIC: YO JOE!

Hey - I have to say thanks to the GI Joe poster from the past...(sorry don't remember who that was)<br /><br />I've been picking up cards real cheap on eBay and enjoying the art, and collecting to try and get a set.<br /><br />SO I was curious is anyone linked to TD also playing GI Joe?  I would not mind trading some cards and maybe learning the game from someone that already knows how...<br /><br />G

Got a box and a few packs. Not opening any of it though. It's currently sitting on my shrine to dead CCG's.<br /><br />Sat in on a couple demos of it at the wizards booth and didn't think much of it. Seemed mostly to be a way to teach little kids to count since it became mostly a test of seeing how many people you could waste with machine gun fire.

That was me who mentioned G.I. Joe.<br /><br />My friends and I have the G.I Joe CCG.  We started playing when it first came out and then picked up a case each really cheap at last year's Gen Con.  I have the Armored Strike boosters that add vehicles, but have not used them yet, so I am not sure how they change the core game.  I figure Henwy's response to the game was like most gamers' responses and hence its demise.  I think people were looking for more complicated gameplay.  I actually liked the quickness of each game.  Great to play if you just have a few minutes or have just fried your brain on a heavier game. 

Well let me know if you have anything to trade or want to try a vehicle game at INDY...I could be up for that, but need to know IF I should make room to take some cards...(on second thought...since I don't even have a deck made...maybe we should just trade if that is any interest to ya)<br /><br />G

At least one friend and I will bring it to play.  We each have a Joe deck and a Cobra deck, so we could actually supply two other people with decks to play.  I also have lots of duplicates, so trading shouldn't be a problem either. 

Post or PM what you are interested in and I will see what I can bring...and I would LOVE to borrow a deck as I have not even started to crack the rules and deck building ideas yet.<br /><br />

Hmm, I don't really know what I have and what I don't have; I've never taken the time to catalogue them. The nice thing about a defunct CCG that probably won't be worth anything is it allows you to simply enjoy the game rather than worrying about the collecting aspect of it.  But a deck or two will be at your disposal, as well as to anyone else who would like to play.  <br /><br />Hey Henwy, have you added Spycraft to your collection of dead CCGs yet?

Welp from the BASE set I can tell ya this much - I don't have a single card of:<br /><br />#1<br />#12<br />#30<br />#73<br /><br />I'm guessing they are Rare Foils...<br /><br />So think about that - I would like one of each so I can at least have 1 complete set and know what every card is...<br /><br />Thanks,<br />G

<br />I've got around a dozen packs of one of the expansions. I don't actually seek to collect them usually, but whenever I run across a pack, I make sure to pick it up. Most of it comes from the goodie bags for various cons and the like.

So I was checking out Spellfire cards on eBay the other day.  You can buy entire booster boxes for $10...until I came to the Forgotten realms booster box.  Its bid was up to $142!  Is this simply people trying to buy an old TSR Forgotten Realms product?  I know there is nothing IN the booster box worth that much. <br /><br />Edit:  Hmm, I just checked the list of completed auctions.  Apparently Spellfire cards have gone up in perceived value--all the boxes are going for more than they used to.
