TOPIC: Anyone playing A Tale in the Desert

Anyone playing A Tale in the Desert 17 years 11 months ago #1

A Tale in the Desert an on-line multi-player game is about to start up again.

It is the only multi-player fantasy game I know that is completely lacking in monsters or combat. It is basically a crafting and skill raising game.

The game will restart on Saturday but if you are a new player you may want to avoid the rush and wait a week till people are setup to help new players.

www.atitd.com

The reason for this post is that I am going to try this game again and wondered if there were other ATITD players in the TD crew.

I had never heard of it, but looks intriguing. A game without fighting--who woulda thunk it?

In terms of online gaming, I'm waiting for the release of NWN2. My friends and I spent many an hour on user-created persistent worlds.

No killing? Sounds like some sort of hippie indoctrination program. How can you improve yourself unless you slaughter hoards of randomly wandering creatures that repop every hour or so?

After 5 years of doing that in EQ, DAOC, COH and WoW it is interesting to try something different.

I can't believe that I put up with Everquest for a long as I did. The number of hours I spent with a stop watch to time when then monster would repop is very sad.
