TOPIC: Greyhound

Anyone know how far the Greyhound Station is from The con center?

About two to three blocks.<br /><br />

Sweet I know how I'm getting to GenCon.

I guess I should clarify, when I mean block I mean an Indianapolis block (street to street) which is a bit smaller than a New York city block (at least it seems so).  But the Greyhound station is just south of the railroad tracks (Union Station) From there it is about two streets north and two streets west to the entrance of the convention center.  Entirely walkable with reasonable weather.

Cool thanks dbradical, its only $41 round trip and by that time I can't begin to think what gas prices are going to be like.

I've always refused to travel by greyhound. Always hear nightmare stories about people who've tried it for long trips. I'm probaly going to fly to indy for the first time ever. It's actually cheaper than driving. Firs ttime that's happened in the past 4 years.

for me it's not that far, just like 2 hours. My mom said that Greyhound is how they ship off all the inmates, she works for a state prison. I think I will chance it though.

Hey, I worked at a state prison too!  Only I had to go back to my cell after my shift ended...

sounds like a story I think a lot of us would love to hear...

Well, since this thread has been hijacked, I'll hijack it a bit further.<br /><br />During my career as an employment counselor at SIU I basically screened and interviewed prospective employees.  Jobs on the application must be "paid" positions.  I had one applicant that had all of these positions at a prison.  Part of our job was to talk to the applicants and find out more information about the job and such.  During the conversation, he said something along the lines of "I guess I should let you know that I wasn't a normal employee of the state during that time, but rather a GUEST of the state at that institution....I was there as a GUEST to fulfill my time for my murder conviction".      :help:<br /><br />Needless to say, I was a bit shocked!  I will never forget how he phrased it though....a GUEST of the state.  Ha ha....still makes me laugh.<br /><br />Back to your discussion of Greyhound!!!!!<br /><br />Lori
