While I have not watched these, I am aware that they are quite horrific.

I am also aware that the situation Gasland follows was actually a fabrication.

This is not to say that I'm going to jump onto the fracking bandwagon. Both sides of the argument create fabrications based on half-truths and weave webs of lies to capture your ear and heart.

(Even the movie Promised Land was funded by the Saudis. If they can get our environmentalists to stop the drilling for domestic energy sources, their exports remain high.)

This is a fraught and nasty battle. If only there were ways to protect the environment and water supply AND produce domestic jobs AND create good government income sources AND maintain our energy-dependent lifestyles.

Finding the truth on this issue is nigh impossible. The films are certainly not the answer.
Blessings to you,

Well, with the EPA admitting that the water supply was contaminated by the chemicals the pump into he ground, I am leaning towards the fracking is bad camp. The US exports more oil than it imports for the last few years, so the push for domestic exploration is for profit, not freedom from foreign entities.

Errr, no. I dunno where you got your info but it's flat wrong. While US oil exports have been rising over the past few years, it's at a level of around 2.9 million barrels per day. As a comparrison, the US imports 8.168 million barrels per day currently. THis is actually one of the best ratios we've had in years due to rising exports and the new avalibility of cheap natural gas which takes up some of the energy slack. By no means are we exporting more than we're importing.

The movies wasn't never the answer, but then again who does?

The problems is that we are never treat as together as whole meaning being an American. Always divide and uneven make for unequal American.

Case in point, different states for different laws, the have and have not, what news today is not news tomorrow or make not be heard at all. A true melt pot that America is and with crisis raise is the reason we made never get along. All men are not create equally and must treat them unequally. But yet we dream that one day that we are equal, which is nearly impossible to have. Teach my child about fundamental right and hope it will do some good him/her to live in this world. But I'm afraid that not enough for him/her to have chance as American civilian.

Just hoping isn't enough...... As we create different and the more different the more problems we have, but can you make a different that equally important as it felt the same to all, No.... Each core value of American is different from one to another for that reason we are never equal by interpretation never justify it mean to all.

You made not view it the same as I do, but I care the same.......

Fracking bad. Clean water good. Fossil Fuels bad.

Green energy and conservation could supply the energy we need AND produce domestic jobs AND damage the environment less (even green energy has environmental consequences).

I meant to say that we are a net exporter of petroleum products. We do import more oil than we export, but fracking doesn't solve that. All propaganda aside, if you are okay with the pumping of water that is full of chemicals into the ground anywhere near an aquifer, then we will have to agree to disagree about the need for this process.

And now I am looking at my plastic tokens and feeling dirty, lol.

My issue is with the idea that because the gas or oil is found here, it stays here. They are both commodities and they may be shipped elsewhere for profit. Why should we endanger what is going to be a precious commodity (water) so a corporation can reap a profit?

So the oil company can own what left of the water company to sell it to endanger area or wasteland that they made, the higher the price it will be.
