(a) you didn't like 28 days later?
(b) it's not really a zombie movie though, so maybe that's why... they're more infected/possessed not even dead, much less undead.

and yeah that sliver in the eye was just about the most disturbing image in any movie I've ever seen...

On a similar note: there's been two recent B-movie type zombie movies that may be ok (I haven't seen them)... one is a semi-schlocky Australian zombie movie, and the other's a definite 'B' movie where a young couple get married, the husband dies, but loves his wife so much he comes back as a zombie (awwww), I can't remember the names right now (they'll come back to me) but they're on my list of 'check them out when I get a chance'...

I think 28 Days Later qualifies as a zombie flick. What was the impetus for Night of the Living Dead? A meteor's radiation? I'd call that infected in a way. Just my opinion, though.

Is the Australian movie you are thinking of Undead? I watched it and it took a while for me to decide if it was good or not. It was different and after thinking about it, it slowly started to grab me. I'm not sure if I would have taken its approach, but it was creative.

I forgot Day of the Dead, which had me so mad after seeing it. I thought at the time it was horrible. I don't dislike it as much now, but I heard that Romero had enough story for 2 films and that's all he got to do. I liked Bob starting to learn.

Which leads to Land of the Dead, which I liked. I have a few beefs with the story, but overall I liked it.

Now, if I can get Jeff to let me write a True Horror movie, that will rock.

What about the new one, Slither? It received a pretty good rating on Rotten tomatoes.

i have that Zombies?! game and all of the modules to go with it i enjoy it but i have a hard time getting people to play the game usually. I have also ran a game of All Flesh Must be Eaten and played it as well. I think its a great roleplaying game but it doesn't seem like a lot of people play it. I kinda like 28 days later when i first saw it but i really don't know how i feel about the movie now compared to Romero's movies. I guess its pretty good its just a different take on the whole zombie thing. I've also seen that australian zombie flick but i can't remember what it was called either. It had aliens in it though it was really very strange. I also enjoyed Land of the Dead it wasn't Romeros best film ever but it was ok. Slither was a decent movie albet with some flaws. I guess it would fit into the zombie category because people did eat other people. It also had the guy who played Malcom from Firefly/Serenity as the main character in it. I think that a True Horror module at Gen Con would be great but it would have to be like really gory and rated mature. It could be like part haunted house part game. I would definitely go to that it would be like the top of my list. Also if you are a zombie fan it would be a good idea to check out the "Walking Dead" comic by Robert Kirkman and the "Girls" comic by the Luna Brothers.

i don't think the Gearon Mace would work against 28 Days Later zombies and Slither zombies i would say that in general they are still kinda "human".

Its all fun and games till someone eats your brain or guts. This brings up an interesting point if zombies were real what kind of melee weapon would you use. Personally i would take either an Fire Axe, a crowbar, or a katana.

I don't like EWWW games - can't say I ever played one...

I've started on BLACK...but I'm not much of a first person player (or whatever the term is).

I like good ole turn based games like old Ultima, Warlords, old Heroes of Might and magic...*sigh* those are the good ole games...

I am an avid horror movie fan, especially zombie movies. I own so many zombies films, it's incredible. On top of my head, Night of the Living Dead (the black and white original + the 80s remake), Dawn of the Dead (the original with the krishna zombie and the remake), Day of the Dead, Land of the Dead, Plague of the Dead, Zombie Island Massacre, Undead (which is the amateur australian film everyone is talking about), Sean of the Dead, 28 days later (a sequel is on the way, called 28 weeks later), Zombi, Zombi 2, Return of the Living Dead, Redneck Zombies, Brain Dead, The Stink of Flesh, etc.

Almost all of these movies are bad, but I usually find something that I like about it. For example, Undead has an horrible music score (who thought Indiana Jones music would fit well in a zombie flick?), but the originality of the scenario grabs me.

In october of every year, there's a independent short movie festival in Montreal, named spasm ( www.spasm.ca ). It's always fun to attend!

I'm hoping this summer will have new representations of Evil Dead : The Musical (theatre format, which means it is acted on stage, and people too close to it are expected to be splashed by fake blood).

www.montrealmirror.com/ARCHIVES/2004/070104/cover_stage.html
