I think everyone who does TD and bought sets should bring them to Gencon and build a 9000 sq ft 25mm dungeon.

Sometimes kickstarter almost seems like a license to print money. Maybe we should kickstart something for TD along the line of capital improvements. Electronic dice for combat rooms, tablets for player coaches, print on demand party cards, etc.

Stetch goals that increase your value on your pledge was really a geat idea. It is what soared Reaper to mega heights.

Dwarven Forge is doing that too which is good but we are only unlocking more of the same. Reaper unlocked new stuff because they were running their entire existing line in plastic. DF should consider doing the same, unlocking pillars and stuff could be easy if the molds will work for the new stuff.

Speaking as someone who doesn't have any dungeon tiles yet I don't mind the extra basic tiles for a while yet. Once it breaks say a mill then ya some variety would be great, stuff like stairs, diagonal walls,a secret door, a few pillars,or a torch etc would be nice but for now doubling down on the original offer seems a good plan. Then again if they really wanted to get me to double down a few cross promotional TD would be nice wink wink bobs your uncle and all that XD

The Risks and Challenges section of the Kickstarter specifically mentions that the money they raise is going towards making new molds. This is not surprising-- the molds need to be adapted to the viscosity, temperature, and chemistry of the new material. Sometimes the sculpts are destroyed during the process of making the molds, so DF might not even have the original sculpts to help them produce new molds from the classic pieces.

A thermosetting plastic like PVC is cheaper than a resin like polystone, but the initial capital investment in machinery and molds is more expensive. I believe molds for PVC, specifically, have to be designed to withstand attack from the chlorine.

So, unfortunately, each new piece probably requires a brand new mold. I do hope that the stretch goals do eventually include some additional types of pieces.

Anyone want to throw out guess for the secret stretch goal at 400k
I'm gonna guess a 4th molded piece.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say it's a diagonal wall. Maybe even two of them! ;)

EDIT: Aaah, I see you cheated, and read the email/looked at the reveal.

So nevermind my guesses (but I still think the autographed photo of Stephan swimming in a bathtub of dungeon terrain a-la-Scrooge McDuck would have been cool)

Raven, maybe that can be the $500,000 bonus!

I still haven't placed my order, but with all of these bonuses, I absolutely am, I just have to decide at what $ amount :cheer:

Woot new piece! Hopefully more to come. Yes very much what Reaper did, very smart to follow that pathway. This is certainly going well so far and the weekened is not even here yet.

Big Congrats!
